Patrick Mahomes has received some heartbreaking personal news following his loss in the Super Bowl on Sunday.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback went into the game with a heavy heart as his grandfather was very ill.
His mother, Randi Mahomes, revealed this Friday that he has passed on.
“Hard to find the words of holding my father’s hand as he goes to Heaven. I know he’s in a better place. I love you daddy. Well done, good and faithful servant!” she wrote in an Instagram post.
Patrick Mahomes’ Grandfather Went Into Hospice Care Before The Super Bowl
Randi had previously revealed that her father, Randi Martin, had gone into hospice care ahead of Sunday’s big game.
She had been very open about her struggles with his sickness on social media, although she never disclosed what he was suffering from, having once revealed watching a Chiefs game at his bedside in hospital.

Social Media Thinks Eagles Fans Crossed The Line By “Cooking” Patrick Mahomes During The Super Bowl Parade

Philadelphia Eagles fans are getting slammed online over a shot at Patrick Mahomes perceived to be in poor taste.
The Eagles kicked off their Super Bowl parade this Friday following Sunday’s 40-22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs, with fans coming out as early as 7:00 a.m. despite the 11:00 a.m. start time.
If you know Philly fans, this shouldn’t come off as surprising at all. However, some of them were thought to have taken things way too far as they were spotted roasting a pig with a curly wig and the number 15 carved into its side.
A photo of the scene quickly spread on social media, and it’s safe to say that not everyone found it funny.

“This isn’t even funny man,” a user wrote. “Mahomes is a real person.”
“I’m sorry, has there ever been an instance when an Eagles fan has shown class or grace? Asking for a friend,” someone else commented.
Still, most thought it was a harmless joke.
“Relax, bro. It’s a roasted pig with a wig on it. You act like it has a noose hanging from a tree,”
“Philly fans are the future of trolling and the innovators of this generation. Incredible,” another added.
Eagles fans also took shots at Mahomes after their win on Sunday night, burning a Kermit stuffed toy while they celebrated in the Philly streets.
Even Nike got in on the act with an ad commemorating the Eagles’ victory featuring an old Kermit song from Sesame Street.
