A Place In The Sun viewers claimed that they were left ‘crying and needing therapy’ after a couple’s controversial choice of breakfast – but who’s in the wrong?
TV star Danni Menzies, 36, revisited Chris and Marie on Monday’s episode of A Place In The Sun: What Happened Next?
The retired chef and ex police officer featured on the Channel 4 property show back in 2019 looking for a two-bedroom home in Manilva, Spain.
They made an offer of £115,000 on a property which was accepted and the pair said cheers to a ‘new adventure’ and ‘good health’.
Footage in the recent episode showed them settled into their life in the sun and enjoying breakfast at a cafe, with Marie tucking into beans on toast and Chris enjoying a full English.
‘I’ve got me usual fry up,’ Chris commented, while Marie added, ‘It saves me cooking.’

‘I’ve got me usual fry up,’ Chris, pictured commented while Marie added, ‘It saves me cooking.’
However, the choice of breakfast left some viewers shocked and many took to social media to share their thoughts.
One posted on X: ‘Beans on toast and a fry up #aplaceinthesun.’;
‘#aplaceinthesun Beans on toast and a full English good to see they’re grasping the culture.’;
‘Stop it! 4 years in and they’ve gone out for a beans on toast breakfast #APlaceInTheSun.’
Another added their shock at the choice: ‘And they *chose* to be filmed eating it! I’m going to need therapy.’
While someone else replied with, ‘I cried.’;
‘#aplaceinthesun Beans on Toast. Very Spanish.’
It comes after A Place In The Sun viewers blasted a couple they deemed ‘the worst ever seen on the show’ for their ‘downright rude and nasty’ behaviour during Thursday’s instalment.
Builder Karl and executive coach Sonia tried to bag the perfect home in Charente, France, for £160,000.

The pair, who met two years prior and live in North Yorkshire, wanted to move to the French countryside and tie the knot.
The two asked for help from expert Craig Rowe and he took them to a number of properties he thought might tick off all the boxes.
However the tours really didn’t go to plan and they shared how none of the options were up to scratch.
