David Muir has reportedly won the long-running feud with fellow ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos, according to a TV insider.

Oliver Darcy, a former CNN journalist and founder of the news site Status, told DailyMail.com that Muir, who was recently branded as “narcissistic,” has now established himself as the dominant figure at ABC News.

“David won,” Darcy said on Daily Mail’s Welcome to MAGAland podcast.

“There’s a reason that George Stephanopoulos does not play a role in the larger ABC news political coverage anymore. He was the lead man for a while and now it’s David Muir.”

Darcy explained that, after years of rivalry, the two have settled into their new roles, with Muir as the top star.

“It’s not like an active feud. It’s sort of like North Korea and South Korea, like there’s a détente,” Darcy said. “But like there’s not much love lost between those camps.”

While Darcy acknowledged that Stephanopoulos still holds significant power at ABC News, he stated that Muir is clearly the higher-ranking figure.

“George has his own real estate. He’s got his show that he hosts once a month, Good Morning America, and his own production company with a Disney deal,” Darcy said.

“He’s doing great, but there’s certainly a feud between the two. And I think if anyone’s denying it, just kind of laughable. I would be embarrassed for them.”

Darcy’s comments follow ABC News’ previous statment that there are no issues between Muir and Stephanopoulos.

An ABC spokesperson told DailyMail.com: “There are far more important things going on in the world right now. This is nonsense.”

In December, Darcy reported that Muir and Stephanopoulos rarely appear together on screen due to their reported problems.

He described their relationship as having “historic tension.”

The rivalry between the two reportedly stems from Muir’s rise at ABC and Stephanopoulos’ resistance to being replaced by a younger journalist.

In 2021, Disney CEO Bob Iger intervened in the dispute after Stephanopoulos threatened to leave the network when Muir was promoted to Chief Anchor.

Stephanopoulos was reportedly upset when Muir took over the role of leading breaking news coverage, a position Stephanopoulos had held since 2014.
