This Morning presenter Cat Deeley and comic Patrick Kielty have announced their shock split after 13 years of marriage. But before their announcement, the pair appeared to be living separate lives.

On Tuesday (July 29), the TV couple announced they are no longer a couple but before their bombshell statement, the parents hadn’t been snapped together in public in over a year. The last picture of the couple seen side by side was taken back in 2023. In the sweet snap, they appeared to be as happy as ever as they attended the Ballywalter London premiere at The May Fair Hotel on September 18, 2023.

At the time, she shared a snap on her social media of the pair smiling as they dressed up to the nines for the occasion before they sat in the crowd. Patrick was later welcomed on stage.

Cat captioned the post on Instagram: “Magical evening last night at the London Premiere of @BallywalterFilm! Celebrating the talents of @PatrickKielty & @SeanaKerslake, director @PrasannaBanana, and the brilliant cast & crew! (+ @EdiBow… the hostess with the mostest!) #BallywalterFilm is in cinemas very soon on 9/22 !!”

One month later and Patrick made his final appearance on the TV presenter’s Instagram page. But almost two years later and the couple have cut ties with one another with Patrick seemingly disappearing from Cat’s social media feed.

It comes after Cat didn’t send Patrick a Father’s Day message last month, which was unusual for the mum-of-two. Before their announcement, the couple had moved their family from the heart of Los Angeles to London back in 2023 after living across the pond for 15 years.

Now, in a joint statement released to the PA news agency, they said: “We have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated. There is no other party involved.

“We will continue to be united as loving parents to our children and would therefore kindly ask for our family privacy to be respected. There will be no further comment.”

While Cat took over the role of ITV’s daytime show This Morning, Patrick became the host of RTE’s The Late Late Show. She had previously opened up on the challenges they faced when it came to balancing motherhood and presenting the show. The broadcaster acknowledged the “juggle” was “real”.

In March this year, Cat missed the funeral of Patrick’s mum’s funeral in Northern Ireland. Heartbreaking pictures emerged of the grief-stricken Patrick carrying her coffin through the streets.

Hundreds of people filed the streets as those closest to Mary and her family joined together for a ceremony at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Dundrum.

At the time, a spokesperson told press at the time that Cat remained at home to care for their young sons Milo and James. They said: “Cat remained at home to be there for her two young children before and after school on this very sad day.”

The showbiz couple met when hosting Fame Academy together back in 2002. Their first public appearance as a couple came nine years later in 2011. They tied the knot one year later in September 2012 at a romantic ceremony in Rome. During a 2020 appearance on Ireland’s The Late Late Show, which was then hosted by Ryan Tubridy, Cat revealed how her husband wooed her.

She revealed: “We had been friends for a very, very long time. Since we did [the TV show] Fame Academy and all that. We would always call each other on birthdays or Christmas, or we’d see each other occasionally or whatever it was.

“Anyway, there was a night where it was the day before my birthday. I can’t even remember what birthday it was now! It was 30-something. Anyway, he called me and he spoke to me on the phone.” The ITV presenter went on: “He said, ‘Oh, what are you doing for your birthday? I’m just ringing to say happy birthday’.

“I said, ‘Oh, we’re going to the Beverly Hills Hotel. We’re just going to have a late brunch; it’s going to be very civilised. It’s a shame you’re not here, otherwise you could come’. And he was like, ‘Well, eh, I’ll be there’.

“Now, bear in mind at this point, Ryan, he was at the Maghera Inn down the end of the road, and in Ireland, I think it was approximately three o’clock in the morning, so I wasn’t too sure! I was like, ‘Yeah, yeah, sure you will. Sure you will, Charlie Big Bananas, sure you’ll be there! I’ll hold you a seat, how about that?’

“Anyway, I didn’t know this, but he basically stumbled home from the pub, set an alarm clock, booked a flight to go back to Heathrow I think the first flight out.”
