Football fans are teeing off on Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe for a selfish act before the team’s stunning ReliaQuest Bowl loss to the Michigan Wolverines.
Jalen Milroe and Alabama were widely expected to cruise past the Wolverines, with some sportsbooks listing them as a two-touchdown favorite. But it was Michigan who squeaked out a 19-13 victory in a defensive slugfest to capture the ReliaQuest Bowl, thanks to the defense’s performance against Milroe.
Before the ReliaQuest Bowl, Milroe was seen filming an NIL (name, likeness, image) video during warmups.
Fans wasted no time ripping on Jalen Milroe, believing it was selfish and careless of him to do this during warmups:
“Does that help him make completions?,” a fan asked.
“Delete this,” remarked another.
“You sure that’s the right stadium? I have seen him show up yet,” one fan joked.
“Should have stayed in the locker room. 3 turnovers in 3 possessions,” wrote a user.
“Worst QB in almost 2 decades. Has the fanbase fooled that he’s a “team” guy too,” a fan claimed.
“Money well spent if you ask me!,” another said.
“Imagine being a booster wasting NIL money on Jalen Milroe,” remarked a fan.
“NIL is doing a number on college ball. I appreciate the players deserving of some kind of renumeration for their talents but the whole thing seems wildly destabilizing,” wrote another.
Jalen Milroe Hasn’t Declared For NFL Draft Yet
He hasn’t announced his final decision, but the anticipation is that Milroe will declare for the 2025 NFL Draft any day now. Milroe is regarded as one of the top QBs in a class that isn’t exactly deep for signal-callers, though Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders is the early favorite to go first overall.
