CORONATION STREET STAR RETURNS AFTER 25 YEARS: Fans Torn Between Emotions and Rage Over the SCANDALOUS LOVE TRIANGLE That DESTROYED a CAST – What’s Coming Next?
A Coronation Street heartthrob is making a shock return to the cobbles 25 years after a scandalous love triangle saw him crash out of soap.
However, the actor will play a whole new character instead of going back to his former role.
Dominic Rickhards, 59, played occupational therapist Michael Wall in the soap intermittently for two and a half years.
He arrived to support Jim McDonald (Charles Lawson), who had been accidentally pushed off some scaffolding by his son Steve (Simon Gregson).
Despite their friendship growing closer, Michael became responsible for Jim and his wife Liz’s (Beverley Callard) break-up in the late nineties.
The love triangle completely tore the McDonald family into pieces and left fans fuming.

But now after almost two and a half decades, the actor is heading back on the soap to play the seemingly charming Dom Norwood.
He is set to be part of Daisy Midgeley’s (Charlotte Jordan) impending exit storyline, and will appear in episodes airing next week.
His character arrives as the mystery man who has been talking to Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) on a dating app.
With his sweet charm, Dom manages to lure the Rovers landlady into investing in his business.
But what she doesn’t know is that he has been hired by Daisy and her mum Christina (Amy Robbins) to pretend to be the person she has been talking to online in a bid to con her.
Dominic is thought to appear in multiple episodes as the storyline intensifies over the coming weeks.
The storyline is part of Daisy’s upcoming exit after actress Charlotte quit the soap last year after five years.
At the time, Charlotte told The Sun: ‘My time at Coronation Street is something I’ll always cherish.

Corrie’s Charlotte Jordan talks about filming acid attack scene
‘It’s been a privilege to be part of a wonderful institution with even more wonderful colleagues who have taught me so much.
‘After a brilliant four years for Daisy, it’s time for me to start a new chapter and explore other opportunities.’
The news comes after it was revealed that Jonathan Howard has ditched the glamour of Hollywood for a role on Coronation Street.
And he has already got ITV fans gripped with the storyline after making an indecent proposal to his brother’s wife after a car park crash.
Jonathan’s character Carl, who is the long-lost brother of Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell), came on to his wife Abi (Sally Carman) and after a series of unfortunate events he saw her displaying adept engine skills, when she fixed his car after they collided.
Now, firmly settled in the family fold, they are left wondering if her hostility is a defense mechanism.
The gripping storyline certainly caught Jonathan’s attention and he swapped Los Angeles for the role and even slept in his old childhood bedroom while filming.
Over the last 10 years, Jonathan has worked with the likes of Brad Pitt, Chris Hemsworth and Anthony Hopkins but noted that landing the part in Corrie is his greatest achievement.

Jonathan Howard has ditched the glamour of Hollywood for a role on Coronation Street and he has already got ITV fans gripped with the storyline
He told The Mirror: ‘Being in Coronation Street is just as big a thrill as being in a Hollywood film or an American TV series. It’s all the same, everyone’s telling stories, whether it’s a big $200m movie or a soap like Corrie.
‘As a Lancashire lad born and raised, the dream was to be in Coronation Street – that was the ceiling, so it feels wonderfully surreal to now be acting with people like Kevin Webster that I watched religiously as a kid.
‘I’m staying with my mum and I sleep in my childhood bedroom. It’s been really nice to come home – going back to my roots.’
Over the years, Jonathan has played Charles Dance’s son in the 2019 film Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and worked with Brad, who produced and starred in the 2013 action horror film World War Z.
He has also appeared in several Hollywood blockbusters, including the Marvel superhero film Thor: The Dark World, where he played astrophysicist Ian Boothby, alongside Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman and Idris Elba.
