‘HE’S A MUCH NICER GUY THAN YOU GUYS, DON’T TRY TO CORNER SOMEONE!’ Wynne Evans’ brother BREAKS SILENCE on his Strictly axe and insists he has ‘HEART OF GOLD’

Wynne Evans’ brother Mark has voiced his ‘unwavering support’ for the star after reports emerged that he’s been dropped from the Strictly Come Dancing tour.

The Go Compare star, 53, was filmed by The Mail on Sunday making an inappropriate s3xual remark about one of the show’s female hosts, it was revealed on Saturday. There are 12 dates left on the tour with the cast set to perform in Liverpool tonight and BBC Studios planning to issue a statement later today.

A source told the Sun: “He’s had repeated warnings about his behaviour and told to rein it in. He’s not been taking it in, in this day and age the BBC have to be seen taking action and safeguard everyone. He’s had a tough time with the death of his brother and people should give him some slack, he is going to take this time off to do some self reflection. He has a lot of support from a lot of the backstage dancers. It’s been a really sad ending to what has been a really fun tour.”

In a statement posted on X, Mark Llewelyn Evans asserted that his brother has a ‘heart of gold’ amid the scandal and he’s standing by him during this “difficult time.” He penned: “As a brother, I want to express my unwavering support for him during this challenging time.”

Mark, a children’s book author and baritone performer, added: “Wynne has a heart of gold and the courage of a lion, paired with a talent that outshines most. His charisma and humour have brought joy to countless people. @BBCRadioWales @BBCTV.”

It is believed that BBC Studios will release a statement later today. After footage of the incident emerged over the weekend, the opera singer apologised for using the unacceptable language.

In a statement to the Mirror, Wynne Evans said: “My language was inappropriate and unacceptable for which I sincerely apologise.”

A Strictly Live Tour and BBC Studios spokesperson also said: “We were not previously aware of the remark and did not receive any complaints. We have made it very clear to Wynne that we do not tolerate such behaviour on the tour.”

Meanwhile, Janette’s spokeswoman said she had been “unaware of this comment.”

The 53-year-old’s co-stars have been supporting him since the furore and are said to be concerned about his low mood. Since the video was released, Wynne agreed to take a break from his BBC Radio Wales show, where he will be replaced by comedian Robin Morgan.
