Bryce Huff OFFICIALLY LEAVES the Eagles after Just 1 Season – BUT Can 49ers Fans Trust this Reunion?

Bryce Huff is joining a new team for a second straight year.
The Philadelphia Eagles have traded Huff to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for a 2026 mid-round draft pick, pending a physical, both teams announced Monday.
NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported Friday that Philly was working on finalizing the move.
A pre-June 1 trade would have meant $12.1 million in dead money for Philadelphia in 2025 with a $4.7 million loss of cap savings. By waiting to make the trade official after June 1, the Eagles incur only $3 million in dead money and save $4.4 million, according to Over the Cap.
Huff, a five-year pro, has spent just one season with the Eagles after signing a three-year, $51.1 million deal during 2024 free agency. He logged 13 tackles, 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble in 12 games played (six starts) for the Super Bowl champions.
He never seemed to be a perfect fit for Vic Fangio’s scheme and consequently fell back to earth following the 10-sack season that netted him a big payday.
Philly’s pass-rushing rotation in Huff’s absence will feature Nolan Smith, Jalyx Hunt and recent additions Azeez Ojulari and Josh Uche.
Huff should seemingly be much more at home rejoining 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, for whom he played from 2021-23 with the New York Jets. Entering his age-27 season, 15.5 of Huff’s 20 career sacks have come under Saleh.
Huff should add solid depth for the Niners behind five-time Pro Bowler Nick Bosa and San Francisco’s 2025 first-round pick Mykel Williams.
