It’s been a chaotic few weeks for soap fans as their usual visits to the likes of Weatherfield have been disrupted due to coverage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
But this week, Coronation Street fans were able to watch all the drama unfold in the ITV soap’s usual airing pattern of Monday to Friday, between 8.30pm and 9pm, following Emmerdale at 8pm until 8.30pm.
As fans of both long-running shows, the new ‘soap power hour’ was first introduced back in January with the first-ever
The major schedule change meant that half-hour episodes have since been airing for each show every weeknight, which the network said at the time was because ‘viewing habits continue to change’.
After the last Corrie episode aired on Friday (July 24), fans will actually be able to tune into the next instalment of Weatherfield action on Sunday (July 26), either from 7am on ITVX and YouTube, or when it airs at 8.30pm on ITV this evening.
Spoilers released last week for the week ahead, starting on a rare Sunday, have already revealed that, having found out from DC Kit Green that it was Jodie Ramsey who attacked Sarah Platt, an angry Shona Platt confronts her sister, demanding some answers. Later, they visit Sarah in the hospital, and she tells them about Jodie’s trinket box. Will they be able to find it?
With David and Shona having gone to bed, Lily tiptoes downstairs in search of her console. She reaches under the sofa and pulls out Jodie’s trinket box. What will she find?
Elsewhere, Sam Blakeman returns home from the hospital. Leanne Battersby, Nick Tilsley, and Toyah Battersby fuss over him. He is troubled when Leanne reveals she has a new boyfriend, but she tries to reassure him and tells him she would like them to meet. Soon, Leanne calls at Speed Dhal with Sam in tow and introduces him to Idris Nazir.
As the week unfolds, David and Shona arrive home from the hospital with Harper to a surprise family welcome party. But everyone is stunned when Jodie arrives and tells them that she has told the police about the assault, and they are shocked when she asks if she can move back in while she waits for her court case.

Meanwhile, Sam is upset when David won’t let him hold Harper. Making sure there’s nobody in earshot, Lily quizzes Jodie about the trinket box. Bethany Platt visits Sarah in prison and tells her about Jodie’s shock arrival at the party and how she confessed to the police about the assault on her.
Sam later tells Idris about the incident with Harper and how it’s clear David thinks he’s mentally unstable and doesn’t trust him. In turn, Idris tells him about his own anxieties as a teen and how he overcame them. Nick and Toyah then arrive, and Sam assures them that after a chat with Idris, he feels much better.
Later, David and Shona confront Jodie about the contents of the trinket box. But soon, Jodie is found still trying to win Lily round and steps in when she spots Lily struggling to stop some lads from bullying Harry Platt at the precinct. As the lads scarper, Jodie takes a picture of them. At No.8, Lily tells David how Harry was being bullied by some lads, but Jodie scared them off.
