Piers Morgan has criticized Prince Harry and Meghan Markle yet again, following reports that the Sussexes disclosed their preferred titles after King Charles described them as “private citizens.”

Harry, 41, and Meghan, 45, returned to the UK last month, six years after their departure as senior working royals. The pair are reportedly living in the Cotswolds, with their children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, enrolled in school. Their homecoming triggered renewed conjecture that their standing within the Royal Family might shift.

Nevertheless, King Charles dispelled those rumors in correspondence sent to senior government and military officials, stating Harry and Meghan would remain non-working royals.

He also indicated that the pair would continue to avoid using formal royal titles, such as His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness, and confirmed their designation as private citizens.

Reports have now emerged that the Sussexes would rather be described as “public figures” as they believe it would “acknowledge that, on a personal level, they remained members of the Royal Family, despite no longer receiving public funding.”

In response to these reports, Piers chose to reveal his preferred label for the duo, calling them “grifters.” The broadcaster stated, “I prefer to call them ‘grifters.'”

Numerous observers have questioned why King Charles decided to issue the letter and what underlying message he was attempting to convey.

According to TalkTV royal correspondent Rupert Bell, Piers suggested the decision may have represented the King’s method of instructing the Sussexes to “get back in their box.”

He stated, “The Sussexes did seem to think that they could still create this half-in, half-out scenario.

“Well, this letter firmly puts that to bed and is almost saying, ‘Back in your box, Sussexes and just start to remember what we established before. Yes, you carry on doing whatever you want privately but don’t think you are anything to do with the royal family. You are now operating separately.'”

TalkTV presenter Julia Hartley-Brewer suggested Prince William and Princess Catherine may have influenced the decision, with the royal couple determined to make it clear that Harry and Meghan had not rejoined the Royal Family in any official role.
