Piers Morgan has slammed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle once again, after the Sussexes reportedly revealed the titles they would prefer to use after King Charles referred to them as “private citizens”. Harry, 41, and Meghan, 45, returned to the UK last month, six years after they stepped down as senior working royals. The couple are said to be living in the Cotswolds, with their children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, attending school.
Their return prompted fresh speculation that their position within the Royal Family could change. However, King Charles put those rumours to rest in a letter sent to senior government and military officials, where he revealed Harry and Meghan would remain non-working royals.

He also said the couple would continue to refrain from using the formal royal titles, such as His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness, and reaffirmed their status as private citizens.
It has now been reported that the Sussexes would prefer to be known as “public figures” as they feel it would “acknowledge that, on a personal level, they remained members of the Royal Family, despite no longer receiving public funding”.
In response to the reports, Piers decided to share his preferred nickname for the couple, branding them “grifters”.
The presenter wrote: “I prefer to call them ‘grifters.'”
Many have speculated about why King Charles chose to release the letter and what message he was really trying to send.
According to TalkTV royal correspondent Rupert Bell, the move may have been the King’s way of telling the Sussexes to “get back in their box”.
He said: “The Sussexes did seem to think that they could still create this half-in, half-out scenario.
“Well, this letter firmly puts that to bed and is almost saying, ‘Back in your box, Sussexes and just start to remember what we established before. Yes, you carry on doing whatever you want privately but don’t think you are anything to do with the royal family. You are now operating separately.'”
TalkTV presenter Julia Hartley-Brewer suggested that Prince William and Princess Catherine may have been behind the decision, with the royal couple keen to make it clear that Harry and Meghan had not returned to the Royal Family in any official capacity.
