BBC’s beloved comedy quiz show, Have I Got News For You, returned to screens on Friday (May 22) with a brutal jab at King Charles. Exploring the week’s top stories and news, host Alexander Armstrong was joined by guest panellists Phil Wang and Judi Love, and their team captains Ian Hislop and Paul Merton. During the show, the stars progressed to the missing words round, a classic segment where the panellists had to correctly complete the sentence of a news headline.
After reading: “Fox with (blank) sought by police for (blank),” Ian hilariously guessed: “Fox with independent relationship sought by police for no-strings relationship.” As the studio audience roared with laughter, Alexander revealed: “Fox with a mouth full of sausages sought by police for BBQ theft.” However, when a photo of the furry culprit appeared, the host brutally quipped: “Either it’s stolen sausages, or it’s bitten King Charles’s hands off.”

The panel and studio laughed boldly before Alexander swiftly moved on to reveal the final scores.
Although King Charles has never spoken publicly about the cause of his swollen fingers, his hands have left many with questions about his health and whether it is due to a medical condition.
However, the King’s hands have been a topic of discussion since the day of his birth, as his late mother, Queen Elizabeth, observed in a letter to her former music teacher.
According to the Mirror she wrote: “The baby is very sweet and we are enormously proud of him. He has an interesting pair of hands for a baby.

“They are rather large, but with fine long fingers quite unlike mine and certainly unlike his father’s. It will be interesting to see what they become. I still find it hard to believe I have a baby of my own.”
King Charles also referred to them himself, once in a letter to a friend after Prince William’s birth.
As quoted in Howard Hodgson’s biography Charles, The Man Who Will Be King, the 77-year-old wrote: “I can’t tell you how excited and proud I am. He really does look surprisingly appetising and has sausage fingers just like mine.”
