Prince Harry’s account of his royal upbringing has been questioned by King Charles’s former butler, Grant Harrold. Mr Harrold, who served the monarch for seven years, said he was surprised by the Duke of Sussex’s claims in his explosive memoir, Spare, saying the Prince’s account “doesn’t add up.”

Mr Harrold, speaking to Fox News Digital, recalled cheerful family moments and little in the way of tension. The butler insists he never saw signs of mental health struggles or sibling rivalry that Harry describes in his memoir – while readily admitting that did not mean it never happened. He further acknowledged that memories can differ, citing Queen Elizabeth II’s own comment that “recollections may vary”.

Fans call on royal couple to become working royals and boost support for monarchy

Royal fans have taken to social media this week, calling for two members of the Royal Family to become working royals. Although loved members of the family, Zara and Mike Tindall have no royal titles, which means they carry out no official work for the monarchy.

Instead, Princess Anne’s daughter, 44, and Mike, 46, have their own careers, and only step out on the royal stage for big events, with Christmas being one of them. While the royal couple seem more than happy with this arrangement, which gives them the privacy to live a more ordinary life, royal fans have taken to X to express just how much they wish Zara and Mike would become working royals.

Royal expert’s surprising five-word comment on Prince Harry and King’s reconciliation

Prince Harry and King Charles made headlines earlier this month when the father-and-son met up for the first time since February 2024. The monarch, 76, invited his son Harry, 41, to enjoy a private tea at his Clarence House home, which lasted just shy of an hour.

While neither Harry, who quit royal life in 2020, or the King have spoken about what was discussed at the meeting, their time together is believed to have been a step in the right direction. This is because Harry had previously claimed in May that his dad would not speak to him as a result of Harry’s court appeal regarding his downgraded UK taxpayer-funded security rights.

Speaking about the King and Harry’s meeting, royal expert Hugo Vickers gave a surprising five-word verdict on the reconciliation, saying: “I think that was a good thing.”

Prince William reveals one subject Prince George, Charlotte and Louis talk about ‘a lot’

Prince William and Princess Kate stepped out for a moving day in Southport on Tuesday as the community continues to remember the three young girls who were killed in a dance class in the town last year. On Tuesday, the Prince and Princess of Wales, both 43, carried out a number of engagements in the area, which included visiting the schools attended by the three victims, Bebe King, six, Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven.

During their visits to the schools, William and Kate spent time talking to students and teachers about their work and how the school community has remembered the victims of the awful attack. The royal couple also spoke to students about other topics, including general school life.

While William and Kate keep their own children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, as private as possible, the future King did speak about one subject his children talk about “a lot.”

Three ways Sarah Ferguson has survived royal scandals before – as future in doubt

Sarah Ferguson has seemingly survived various royal scandals in her time as a high-profile member of the British Royal Family. The 65-year-old has now come under fire over new revelations involving the publication of an email that she allegedly sent to Jeffrey Epstein following his release from jail on child sex offences.

The latest revelations showed emails exchanged between Sarah and the late convicted sex offender in 2011. Sarah can be seen issuing an apology for disassociating herself from her “supreme friend” when it had emerged that he had bailed her out financially.

A spokesperson said that Sarah had only sent the emails after Epstein – who took his own life in prison in 2019 – made threats to sue her.

This isn’t, however, Sarah’s first high-profile scandal. During her third year of marriage to Andrew, and whilst pregnant with their second daughter, Sarah met American Steve Wyatt – who has been referred to as “love of her life”.

Prince Andrew should be banned from attending all royal events, royal fans fume

Prince Andrew was spotted at Westminster Cathedral for the Catholic funeral of the late Duchess of Kent on September 16. The royal’s appearance came as a a surprise as the 65-year-old now keeps a low profile after a host of scandals in the past few years.

The royal, who had a past association with the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, was spotted engaging in conversation with various royals, including Prince William. Although the event was a private family event, it was still held somewhat in the public eye, leading fans to question Andrew’s appearance.

In a poll conducted by the Express, which ran between 10am on September 19 and 8.15am on September 24, 6,132 casted a vote on whether they think Andrew should be invited to any royal events.

A staggering 5,026 shared that they don’t think he should be invited to any – including private events.

‘Sarah Ferguson stopped me from using her name before she stormed off’

Sarah Ferguson has had a week to forget after several charities dropped her as patron following the leak of an email she sent to paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

The Duchess of York had emailed the infamous sex offender weeks after vowing never to communicate with him again. In her apology to Epstein, she wrote: “I did not use the P word about you.”

She claimed the email was sent in response to legal threats from Epstein, and the covert correspondence offered a rare insight into her private life.

One individual who has had personal interactions with Sarah off-screen is seasoned Australian TV presenter Michael Usher. He conducted a disastrous interview with Sarah in 2011, the same year she sent the email to Epstein, for 60 Minutes Australia.

The situation became so tense that Prince Andrew’s ex-wife stormed off.

Princess Anne speaks out on sending children to boarding school – decades after she went

Princess Anne hailed the benefits of a boarding school education yesterday, as she sought to reassure naval families who often enrol their children into them. The King’s sister, 75, who boarded at Benenden School in Kent for five years as a teenager, said the experience brings “stability” and makes children’s lives easier.

During a visit to the Naval Children’s Charity (NCC), for which she became patron in March, she said: “One of the charities I’m doing puts children into boarding schools, and the thing they always say is that it gives them stability.” The Princess Royal added: “ I think that’s true for a lot of people, that level of stability, because otherwise it leaves gaps in your life which are difficult to manage.”

Royal fans all say the same thing about Princess Kate’s latest appearance in Southport

Meghan Markle warned her ex-best friend is ‘biding her time’ to ‘come after’ Duchess

Meghan Markle’s former best friend Jessica Mulroney could reportedly be “biding her time” when it comes to spilling the beans on their fallout, sources have claimed. Canadian stylist Jessica Mulroney, who was very close to Meghan and also her chief bridesmaid on her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018, has reportedly been offered an advance of more than £742,000 ($1million) to publish her own bombshell account of their friendship.

While Ms Mulroney declared that she would “never” talk about her and the Duchess of Sussex’s friendship and their fallout, a source close to her suggested the stylist is wary of how her “powerful” friend would react if she ever wrote a memoir. They said: “Meghan still has a lot of eyes and ears in Canada. I suspect Jessica is not sure what to do [with what she knows]. Meghan is still pretty powerful and they have a lot of people in common.”

Prince Harry displays ‘sad’ and ‘nostalgic’ look when talking about William – expert

Prince Harry looked “nostalgic and sadder” when talking about his estranged brother Prince William on TV, a body language expert has said. Over the weekend, the Duke of Sussex, 41, appeared on ABC’s new documentary “The Happiest Story On Earth: 70 Years Of Disneyland”, alongside his wife Meghan Markle, 44.

Talking from their Montecito home, the couple – who recently took their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to Disneyland – spoke about how much they love the theme park, both as adults and when they were children. Prince Harry, who quit royal life in 2020, also shared an insight into his memory of visiting as a child with his late mother, Princess Diana and his brother, Prince William, with whom he is no longer believed to be on talking terms.

Prince Andrew’s biographer breaks silence on Fergie scandal in brutal take down

A biographer who recently wrote a book about Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson has broken his silence on the latest royal scandal this week. Andrew Lownie, who celebrated the publication of his book Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York recently, said he does not have a lot of sympathy for the Duchess of York, 65, after it was revealed she had emailed Jeffrey Epstein in 2011.

The email, sent by Sarah to the late convicted paedophile after he was released from jail for child sex offences, saw the duchess apologise to Epstein for disowning him publicly. She also referred to him as her “supreme friend”.

Prince Harry ‘like a brother’ to Ukrainians after visits supporting Kyiv’s war wounded

A Ukrainian paramedic once held captive by Russian forces described Prince Harry as “amazing” after meeting him in the war-torn country. The Duke of Sussex has visited Ukraine twice this year, including earlier this month when he was invited by the Kyiv government and a centre that treats amputees wounded in the conflict.

Yuliia “Taira” Paievska, who was held as a prisoner of war by Russia after being captured during the siege of Mariupol in 2022, said Harry’s support for Ukraine is “invaluable”. The prince said he wanted to do “everything possible” to help the thousands of seriously wounded Ukrainian military personnel after travelling to Kyiv and Lviv with a team from his Invictus Games Foundation. Taira said the Duke is “very supportive” of Ukraine after meeting him at the Superhumans Centre, a rehabilitation clinic in Lviv, western Ukraine, in April.

King Charles was a hands-on father, insists ex-royal butler

Grant Harrold, who worked closely with King Charles III, has pushed back against the perception that the monarch was distant with his sons.

He described Charles as “very funny” and “very sweet” with William and Harry, determined to fill the void left by Princess Diana’s death.

According to Mr Harrold, the king took his boys fishing and shooting in Scotland, offering a very different kind of parenting from Diana’s theme-park trips.

He said both parents brought “something very different to the table,” shaping the princes’ characters in unique ways.

Mr Harrold stressed that Charles made time for his sons despite royal duties, showing a more personal side rarely seen by the public.
