Amid rumors that the Los Angeles Rams will shop quarterback Matthew Stafford, one top NFL wide receiver has fueled speculation that his team could pursue a trade for the 36-year-old.
Last week, it was reported that Matthew Stafford decided to continue playing rather than retire. Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer explained on “The Dan Patrick Show” earlier this week that the Super Bowl 56-winning quarterback could be available in a trade.

New York Giants superstar wide receiver Malik Nabers created a buzz on social media when he hinted at his team trading for both Stafford and Cooper Kupp. The latter announced on X/Twitter earlier this week that the Rams intend to trade him.
In a since-deleted X post, Nabers wrote, “9 and 10 🐏👀”, a reference to the jersey numbers donned by Stafford and Kupp.
Nabers was asked about this post in his appearance on “Fantasy Football Happy Hour” with Matthew Berry, where he further fueled the Giants-Stafford trade rumor:
“His arm talent is crazy. His sidearm is crazy. The way he throws the ball, his angles, it’s crazy. He knows the defense. He’s a veteran quarterback. He led that team to the playoffs without those receivers he was playing with at the beginning of the season when they were hurt. Then when he got them back, he was able to do a lot of great things. I like the way he throws the football.”

The Giants will be in the market for a new starting quarterback this offseason, having released starter Daniel Jones in November. They could target a quarterback like Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders with the No. 3 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, but an offensive-minded head coach like Brian Daboll may also be keen to work with an established veteran like Matthew Stafford.
Rams Should Keep Matthew Stafford
Neither the Rams nor Stafford have hinted at a possible trade. Having gotten Los Angeles within a couple of plays of the NFC Championship Game, the best is for this marriage to continue in 2025.
Kelly Stafford Comes To The Defense Of Carrie Underwood For Performing At Donald Trump’s Inauguration

Carrie Underwood caught so much backlash from some for singing at Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration, but now she has found a supporter in Kelly Stafford.
Underwood performed ‘America the Beautiful’ as Trump was welcomed into the Oval Office for a second and final time on Monday.
While she was blasted in the days before the performance, the wife of Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford has her back.
On her “Morning After” podcast with Hank Winchester, Stafford and her co-host made sure their listeners knew they were behind Carrie Underwood.
“I thought Carrie Underwood was fantastic,” Winchester said.
“I don’t like people coming after her for… to me, no matter who I voted for, if a sitting president calls me and says, would you like to come to the White House? I’m going to the White House.”
“I love that I didn’t know her stance on politics,” Kelly Stafford responded.

“I mean, I just feel like that’s kind of amazing. And I think it surprised a lot of people that she was going to perform.”
Kelly, who admitted on the podcast that she missed most of the inauguration because she was flying home from the Rams’ game against the Eagles in Philly, agreed with her co-host that “we have to just respect the power at hand.”
“When they’re in there, you can’t change it,” she said, referring to people upset that Trump, 78, is president. “You just gotta pray that they make the right decisions for this country. You gotta support any way you can, even if you don’t like them. You just gotta do it until the next term, and then we’ll bitch again.
“But people are in place,” Stafford noted. “It is what it is.”
Despite her awesome performance, it appears that everything wasn’t okay for Carrie Underwood on Monday.
Underwood reportedly felt that she was not given “the same respect” as Beyoncé during her inauguration performance this week.
The country music superstar encountered a few hiccups during her rendition of “America the Beautiful.”
The band that was meant to accompany Underwood did not play, and a backing track cut out, so she was forced to sing a cappella and asked the onlookers to sing with her.
Carrie Underwood Caught So Much Backlash That She Didn’t Post Anything From The Inauguration
Carrie Underwood’s performance at the Trump inauguration stirred controversy among her fan base, who did not like her agreeing to do the job.
At the time, she attempted to justify her decision in a statement that read: “I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event.”
Underwood received so much negative attention that she didn’t even bother posting highlights from the inauguration to any of her social media pages.
