New York Giants legend Michael Strahan has probably lost himself some fans after what could be considered a controversial gesture and a proverbial slap to the face of his former team.
The Hall of Famer made some huge defensive plays against the Philadelphia Eagles back in his day. But he seemed to switch sides for a moment while spending some time with running back Saquon Barkley.
Strahan and Barkley were on a boat ahead of Super Bowl 59 when he decided to show some respect for the former Giants star by waving the Eagles flag.
“We gon’ fly Eagles fly for Saquon Barkley because I respect and love this man so much,” he said.

“Idc how you feel about the current state of the Giants, this ain’t it. Stay on that side when we’re back on top. It’s coming,” a fan declared.
“Unforgivable,” another added.
“Yeah, that’s disgraceful. #gogiants,” said another.
“BLASPHEMER,” someone spat.
The former pass rusher is likely very happy for Saquon right now, given that he’s since become a Super Bowl champion as he helped the Eagles topple the Chiefs in the big game on Sunday night.
We doubt there’s anyone in New York who feels the same way.

The New York Giants have taken some serious heat for their player decisions over the last several months, having gone 3-14 in 2024. And one of their legends, Michael Strahan, couldn’t help but troll them on Sunday.
The NFC East franchise allowed both Saquon Barkley and Xavier McKinney to join other teams during the last offseason and have paid dearly for it.
Strahan, a former defensive end who spent his entire career in NY and helped them win a Super Bowl, was offering analysis for FOX ahead of the Wild Card showdown between the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers—Barkley and McKinney’s new teams—when he told the Giants what a brilliant job they did.

“You can argue whether you think Bran D is a good or a bad coach! But you can’t argue that Schoen has been awful. Terrible drafts & can’t evaluate even his own talent. He will be fired mid next year! Rebuild starts in 2026!” a fan wrote.
“I clapped when I heard this. This is why he’s a Giants legend. Much respect!” another added.
“the media has been focused on the wrong guy they let go. Not having McKinney has been and will be more costly than losing Saquon,” a comment read.
Barkley won his first playoff game on Sunday, helping Philly beat Green Bay. McKinney, on the other hand, will have to wait another year for a chance to return.
