Susanna Reid kicked off Tuesday’s Good Morning Britain with some urgent breaking news.
She announced: “Breaking news, D0nald Tru/mp claims a total ceasefire has been agreed between Israel and Iran.
“Overnight, Iran continues to fire waves of missiles at Israel right up until the moment the truce was due to start an hour ago at 5am. We are live in Tel Aviv on this developing story throughout the morning.”
During the broadcast, Susanna reported that the US president had made the announcement of the ceasefire agreement overnight.
She emphasised Trump’s cautionary statement, saying he: “Warned that both countries had much to lose is, in his words, ‘they stray from the road of righteousness and truth’.”

Co-presenter Ed Balls highlighted the uncertainty surrounding the ceasefire due to mixed signals from both countries involved, reports the Manchester Evening News.
After discussing the conflicting reports, they switched to Good Morning Britain’s reporter Jonathan Swain, who joined them live from Tel Aviv.
Ed delved into whether locals believed the ceasefire was authentic and would last, to which Jonathan responded from a skeptical Tel Aviv.

He commented: “Good question Ed, good morning from a rather cautious Tel Aviv.”
Jonathan elaborated on the local impact, saying: “In this suburb I’m standing this morning, they know all too well the damage that these Iranian missiles can do. These buildings behind me, residential homes, were bombed last Monday.
“Hopefully, all of that can now stop because this ceasefire officially started just over two hours ago, but missiles were being fired right up until the wire.

“A few hours ago, we were woken up here in Tel Aviv to the sound of air raid sirens.”
Following the sound of sirens heard by ITV viewers, Jonathan informed them that they had taken refuge in a shelter and remained there for an hour until they received the all-clear.
He further added: “Some of those missiles did make their way through the air defences and hit a resident building in the South. Reports that four people have been killed there this morning.”
