Britain’s Got Talent underwent a shock twist during Saturday night’s episode after the roles were reversed and Simon Cowell received the golden buzzer.

The judge, 65, took to the stage after magician act The Hacker settled into Simon’s seat on the panel and began instructing the star as he performed the act on his behalf.

The Hacker, whose identity and voice were disguised, had the audience and fellow judges in hysterics as he mimicked Simon’s iconic lines before hitting the golden buzzer at the end of the impressive mind reading and AI act.

Simon was left shocked as the gold confetti poured from the ceiling and fans were left questioning whether it counted as a ‘real’ golden buzzer moment.

Sharing the never seen before moment on Twitter, BGT penned: ‘Congrats, Simon!  Is this a BGT first?! Simon just got The Hacker’s Golden Buzzer!’

Other fans were overjoyed by the hilarious twist as they wrote: ‘Simon is straight through to the LIVE SEMI FINALS… as an ACT!!’;
