Ruth Langsford was forced to apologise as Prue Leith swore live on Loose Women during a rant about a brutal snub she received at the supermarket.
The 85 year old appeared on the ITV show to speak to Ruth, Kelle Bryan and Coleen Nolan and got chatting about her show Prue Leith’s Cotswold Kitchen.
The cooking programme hit ITV back in 2024 and also stars her husband John Playfair – and it sounds like since starring in the show he has gained a fanbase.
An intrigued Coleen asked her: ‘What’s this about your husband stealing your thunder a bit?’
Prue said: ‘Ugh! I’m seriously p***ed off.’
The audience burst into laughter as she added in panic: ‘Sorry. Sorry. Sorry.’

Ruth chimed in: ‘I do have to say, I do have to apologise for that slightly fruity language.’
The Great British Bake Off star went on to retell a situation she found herself in while shopping with her husband.
An embarrassed Prue continued: ‘I do apologise.
‘But honestly, the fact is, he is such a charmer.
‘I only let him into the show because I thought it’s his house, if we’re going to have a crew for two weeks and they take over.
‘I thought if he’s involved he may not mind the cables. Well that was a mistake.’
Prue continued: ‘The other day I was in the supermarket, the check out lady recognised him and said “You’re the man off Cotwolds Kitchen. I love you,” she said.

‘”You are so funny. Blah blah blah.”
‘Absolutely in his face. I’m there filing the trolley, not a glance my way!’
Coleen asked her what he does in the kitchen and Prue explained: ‘I teach him how to cook, which is wonderful fun.
‘He’s quite good actually. He learns fast. He brings lots of drinks to go with everything. I like that a lot.
‘But the best thing he does is he goes off to find food heroes, I’m keen to champion people, little businesses who make wonderful jams or a good butcher.’
The pair met back in 2011 on a double date and tied the knot in 2014.
The GBBO star was previously married to Rayne Kruger between 1974 and 2002.
