Loose Women was halted just minutes into Tuesday’s instalment of the show as Charlene White called out her co-host Janet Street-Porter for ‘lying’ live on air.

Charlene, 44, Janet, 78, Kelly Brook, 45, and Brenda Edwards, 56, returned to our screens to discuss this weeks newsworthy topics.

The panel got talking about the death of Pope Francis, who passed away on Easter Monday aged 88.

Kelly explained to viewers how the weekend was quite important to her husband Jeremy Parisi, who is an Italian catholic, and his mum messaged him to remind him not to eat meat on Good Friday.

She confessed: ‘The guilt that came over his face because he’d already had a fry up and it had already been served.’

Janet chimed in: ‘Even I didn’t eat meat on Friday! I’m sorry I banned meat. We did not have meat on Friday, absolutely did not.

After the advert break, Charlene called Janet a ‘liar’ and then showed a picture of her breakfast that she had on Good Friday – which consisted of bacon

‘We had fish for lunch.’

After the advert break, Charlene shared a shocking revelation.

She told viewers: ‘Nice to see you again, I’m going to stop proceedings now because we have a liar in our midst.

‘A liar ladies and gentleman! About 10 minutes ago on the programme Janet had a go at Kelly for eating meat on Good Friday.

‘And Janet, you forget that social media exists sometimes. Don’t you?

‘One of our producers has found this!’

They then shared a snap of Janet’s breakfast by the seaside, which consisted of an egg and bacon baguette and a cup of tea.

Charlene continued: ‘This is Janet having a breakfast by the sea on Friday morning.

‘What do you see under those two fried eggs ladies and gentleman…

‘I see… Bacon! Bacon!’

Janet snapped back: ‘How do you know it’s not vegetarian bacon?!

‘They do have such a thing as vegetarian bacon, even in Norfolk!’

Kelly chimed in: ‘Janet, you owe Jesus an apology and me an apology!’

Charlene said: ‘Go on.’

Janet snapped back: ‘Alright.

‘I’ll say a quick sorry but I’m not that sorry because most of the breakfast was egg.’

Charlene told her: ‘Literally doesn’t count.

‘Okay, now we can go back to the show. I felt that needs to be highlighted Janet.’

Janet said: ‘Oh you just needed to humilate me. You’ve already done.

‘Okay, carry on. Carry on.’
