Si King previously opened up about how he nearly died after suffering a terrifying brain aneurysm.
The presenter, 58, has been a staple on screens for years, along with best mate, the late Dave Myers. Dave tragically passed away in February 2024 aged 66 after a cancer battle.
However, Si – who is on Hairy Bikers’ Best of British today (September 20) – also had a serious health scare a few years back, when he was rushed to hospital for life-saving surgery.

Si King’s health scare
In 2014, Si was home alone watching the rugby on TV when ‘players began falling off the screen’.
He told MailOnline: “I thought, I’m in trouble here. Then I had this searing pain – the only way to describe it was like someone was going at my head with a rusty nail and a hammer.”
Having already battled a crippling headache for four days, Hairy Bikers star Si decided to go to the hospital – but things were set to take a terrifying turn.

Doctors ‘grew really worried’
Speaking to The Mirror in 2016, Si said: “When I got to hospital all hell broke loose. The doctors did a lumbar puncture and found blood in my spinal fluid.
“At that point they grew really worried. I had to sign a load of forms to say I understood I may make it, or I may not.”
Doctors then diagnosed Si with a bleed on the brain. Si admitted that he found the diagnosis “an incredibly scary thing” as “more people die from this type of thing than survive”.
I was incredibly lucky.
After having surgery, Si spent four days in intensive care before getting released. And within four weeks, he was back on his beloved motorbike.
He said in a MailOnline interview: “The doctors said they were pleased with how it had gone. There was a point at which they worried they might have to do a second procedure, which would have been more serious, but they decided no. I was incredibly lucky.”
