Sofia Vergara, best known for her role as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on the hit comedy Modern Family, has been accused of diva behaviour behind the scenes of the long-running series.

Kelly Mantle, who guest starred on Modern Family as a drag queen in the 2019 episode The Last Halloween, opened up about her experience working with Lewis Hamilton’s new flame during an appearance on the podcast The Bald and the Beautiful with Trixie and Katya.

The actress described the 52-year-old Sofia as the ‘rudest celebrity’ she had encountered, citing the Griselda star’s treatment of her staff and a wig-related meltdown on set.

‘It was not the most pleasant experience I’ve ever experienced,’ Mantle revealed.

‘It wasn’t toward me. It was the way that some of her staff were being treated.’

Kelly recounted an alleged incident involving Sofia’s resistance to wearing bobby pins to secure a wig for a scene.

‘In the episode, she’s wearing a wig, and they kept wanting to put bobby pins in it, and she kept telling them no bobby pins,’ she explained.

The tension escalated when Kelly, who was meant to place a crown on Sofia’s head during a scene, allegedly inadvertently upset the actress.

‘They yell action, and I’m supposed to put the crown on her hair. So I put the crown on, and then they say cut, and she’s like, ‘Watch out for the wig! You’re putting the crown on my head!’

Kelly recalled, adding that she jokingly retorted, ‘Well, girl, you should have put those bobby pins in.’

Kelly acknowledged that the day might have been an off one for the celebrated actress.

‘Maybe it was a bad day. I’m just going to say it was a bad day. Because she’s hilarious, and beautiful, and talented, and gorgeous. I’m sure it was a bad day.’

Sofia, who starred on Modern Family from 2009 to 2020, has not commented on the claims.

Over the years, Sofia has romanced a number of younger men, including her second husband Joe Manganiello, 48, and ex-fiancé Nick Loeb, 49.

Meanwhile Lewis famously carried on an on-off relationship with Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger from 2007 until their final split in 2015.

In the decade since, he has been linked to supermodels Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner, and found himself denying romance rumors with Rihanna.
