Good Morning Britain paused to deliver record-breaking news as Laura Tobin announced that the weather for the Bank Holiday in Britain is forecast to be one of the hottest ever. Temperatures in some parts of the country could even reach tropical levels of up to 30 degrees, creating perfect BBQ weather. However, despite what many would have seen as a positive update, it left some viewers frustrated as they took to the social media platform X to vent their anger about the ITV morning show.
Speaking on Monday, the weather forecaster shared: “Good morning to you. It is a Bank Holiday Monday for some of us, and it could be record-breakingly warm, and it is down to the remnants of record-breakingly warm hurricane Erin that brought very stormy conditions across eastern parts of America.

In response, viewers shared their complaints with the programme, with one fuming that the show “plays music” over the presenters’ talking for “two to three minutes” while leading up to the news. Another replied: “Wow, not one mention of the genocide that is happening right now in Gaza. I would’ve thought that was news.” While a third added: “What record-breaking hypocrisy? I think Tobin Tours already has the record there.”
However unfazed by negative feedback online, Laura who looked radiant in a bright pink skirt and orange blouse continued to explain how despite the balmy temperatures on Monday, it would turn gloomier as the week progressed.
She shared: “So two things happen. First off, it warms up and then it turns wetter and windier through the week. This low pressure moves through, bringing with it rain, winds, and some very rough seas out towards the west.
“That is one to watch for the next few days. So, everything will change after today. So today, get out and enjoy that sunshine if you can.
“Firstly, this morning the skies are clear, but here comes the change. So for many across Scotland, England, and Wales, it is a blue sky day. Water will sunshine and it’s set to turn hot. Temperature-wise, 28, 29, or 30 degrees.
“Record-breaking for Wales very likely. Northern Ireland hit and miss whether we get that record because we see these showers moving in from the west later and then this dominates for the next seven days. So let’s take a look at our outlook as we head through the rest of the week.”
