While hosting his regular entertainment round-up, Richard, 55, announced: “Now, some breaking news for you!” with a banner appearing on-screen that teased: “Hollywood megastar gets involved.”
He revealed: “Soccer Aid 2025 is getting a Hollywood heavyweight as a supporter… can you guess who it is? She’s just a girl who will be standing in front of tens and thousands of footie fans asking them to cheer with her…

Richard went on to say: “Now, Julia’s made no secret that she’s a fan of the beautiful game, she delighted Man United fans a couple of years ago… Julia said she’d be thrilled to attend this year’s charity event!”, reports the Manchester Evening News.
The celebrity-packed Soccer Aid for UNICEF event is set to take place at Old Trafford in Manchester on 15 June.
Boasting an impressive roster of stars, the charity football match has been a resounding success.
Since its inception in 2006, Soccer Aid has raised an incredible £90 million for Unicef, directly benefiting those in need across countries such as Cambodia.
This year’s event includes Tyson Fury making history as he manages the England team, with football royalties such as Wayne Rooney, Gary Neville, and Paul Scholes gracing Old Trafford once again.

Former Lionesses Toni Duggan and Steph Houghton will be making their Soccer Aid debuts, joining Jill Scott to strengthen England’s team against a Soccer Aid World XI.
The opposing team boasts Euro 2020 winner Leonardo Bonucci, Nadia Nadim, Diamond and Strictly Come Dancing’s Gorka Marquez.
The live event will once again be hosted by UNICEF UK Ambassador Dermot O’Leary, with Alex Scott, a supporter of UNICEF UK, returning as co-host for the charity match.
