As co-host Ellie Costello expressed her excitement at the news, Eamonn was less than impressed as he questioned why it was “front page news”.

Opening the Breakfast show with the story, Eamonn swiped: “Let’s get this over with.”
Ellie excitedly reacted to the news, telling the GB News panel: “Oh, I am so happy, I’m delighted for her, absolutely delighted for her.
“I’ve been listening to her music for near on 20 years, and I can only describe it as when you’ve got a friend who’s been really unlucky in love, it feels like that. You’ve listened to all the albums of heartbreak and finally, she’s 35 years old, she has met the man of her dreams.”
Hitting out at Taylor Swift, Eamonn swiped: “She’s had a lot of boyfriends.”

Ellie then responded: “She’s been unlucky in love. The last one, Joe Alwyn, we thought was the one, she was with him for almost seven years, and then that ended. She was 33 years old. She was very open about wanting marriage and wanting babies and all those things. She didn’t think it was on the cards for her.
“And look, she’s met Travis Kelce, he’s an NFL star, he came to one of her concerts and wore her little friendship bracelets, which all of her fans wear, and he was desperate for her number.
“Now look, two years later, they’re engaged, the ring’s massive, that photo went so viral with millions of likes within minutes and that dress has sold out.
“Obviously, it’s going to be the biggest celebrity wedding in decades, it’s going to be huge. This is like a royal wedding for Americans.”
Urging Eamonn to offer a positive reaction, Ellie joked: “We have to be a little bit excited about it Eamonn. Come on, try for me!”

Eamonn declared he was “not excited” by the news, to which Ellie declared: “You just said that the world feels miserable, this is some happy news, let’s try and be excited.”
Eamonn sighed as he picked up one of the newspapers and threw it down, hitting back: “Somebody wants to get engaged, there we go, it’s not a big deal. It doesn’t need to be front page of a newspaper!
“I couldn’t name one of her songs, not one. She’s very old, she’s 35.”
Elle interjected: “I don’t think you can say that… Well I’m very very happy for them, and Eamonn is secretly, deep, deep down.”
