Danny Jones revealed that his wife Georgia had a tough few weeks at the beginning of the year, speaking out on her ‘burnout’ following his I’m A Celeb win.

The comments were made just days before the McFly star shared a drunken kiss with his I’m A Celeb co-star Maura Higgins at Saturday night’s Brit Awards.

Speaking on the Parenting Hell podcast with Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe, which was released just a day before the kiss, Danny spoke candidly about how his month in the Australian jungle affected his ten year marriage.

Georgia, who shares son Cooper, seven, with Danny, moved house solo whilst Danny was Down Under, with the musician admitting ‘I’m surprised she’s still with me to be honest because she moved house all by herself.’

Georgia subsequently went on a solo retreat to a remote cabin after Danny returned home from Australia.

‘When I got back, my wife was like, “I just think I need to go away to a hut myself for a few days,”‘ Danny explained on the podcast.

Heading into the New Year, Danny’s wife Georgia revealed she needed to ‘do something for me’ and booked a woodland retreat after feeling ‘overwhelmed’ with solo parenting

‘I said “just go and take yourself away. And have a few days”. She was overwhelmed. It got too much for her. And I could see it. I was like “you need to just need to go”.

Later in the podcast, Danny called Georgia’s solo house move ‘absolute God tier,’ and gushed of his wife: ‘She’s amazing at making life less complicated. Somehow she will make my life less complicated and just talk to me.’

Georgia spoke about her burnout on her own podcast Mum’s The Word, admitting: ‘I was like, do you know what? F*** it. I’m going to do it. I need to be on my own. I need silence. I can’t hear – I can’t hear people needing me anymore. I can’t. I can’t do it.’

In an Instagram post at the time, Georgia explained her reasons further, telling fans: ‘Over a month of solo parenting, moving house on my own, working hard on my career whilst Danny was in the jungle with snakes in his pants was A LOT!’

She booked a wholesome woodland retreat with cabin company Unyoked.

Georgia took herself to snowy Shropshire where she stayed in a cabin and chopped wood, built a fire, enjoyed some reading time and soaked up nature.

‘I was going into this New Year burnt out. Everything I didn’t want to feel entering 2025… I felt.’

‘So whilst I was still in Australia I decided I needed to do something for me… a solo trip, one to push me out of my comfort zone but also one to give me the break I craved.

‘When I got back, my wife was like, “I just think I need to go away to a Hut myself for a few days,”‘ Danny explained on the podcast

‘So… I booked a little cabin in the middle of nowhere, somewhere near Shropshire, and found a little nugget of calm in my overwhelmed brain.

‘I chopped fire wood, built fires, sat in silence, read books, slept, took in the views, watched the sheep in the nearby field… and it was perfect.

‘I pushed myself. When it started getting dark, when I got a log stuck on the cutter, when I thought I was going to get snowed in… I though about leaving… I thought “I can’t do this”. But I did! And now I’m going into this year super proud of myself. If you do one thing this year… Do this.’

Neither Georgia nor her husband Danny, who she married in 2014, have spoken in public since he was caught enjoying a late-night smooch with former Love Islander Maura, 34.

Georgia revealed that the pressures of solo parenting and moving house on her own during that time resulted in her feeling burnt out

It is understood that Georgia has not recorded any new editions of her podcast since The Sun obtained footage of Danny and Maura getting cosy at a Brits bash.

The latest edition of the Mum’s The Word podcast was released on Monday, but was recorded before the news of the kissing furore.

A ‘humilated’ Georgia has also pulled out of a public Q&A at The Baby Show this weekend.

The video of Danny and Maura, reportedly taken just before 3am, shows them standing close to each other in the venue’s foyer and leaning in to chat before he appears to peck her quickly.

They were then seen leaving the venue as part of a larger group including Danny’s bandmate Tom Fletcher, with Maura then heading home alone in a taxi.

An onlooker told the publication of the interaction: ‘Danny and Maura seemed to be having a great time. They looked like they had a brief drunken kiss.

‘Danny and Maura seem to have a close friendship after meeting in the jungle. They were talking and laughing for ages.’

The pair sat at different tables for the actual ceremony which was held earlier in the night at the O2 Arena.

But at the afterparty they did share a table and exclusive MailOnline footage showed them sitting close together, with Maura even resting her head on Danny’s shoulder at one point.

A source added of the night: ‘Danny appeared to be giving Maura advice and at one point he put his arm around her shoulder.’
