Jets coach Aaron Glenn revealed that he and some players are ‘p—ed ff’ that the focus remains on Aaron Rodgers even after the legendary quarterback was axed by New York.
It was confirmed earlier this month that the Jets were moving on from the 41-year-old after two miserable years.
The quarterback tore his Achilles after only four snaps of his debut in 2023 before his second season ended with the Jets failing to make the playoffs once more.
Glenn and General Manager Darren Mougey addressed the decision at the NFL combine on Tuesday and the new head coach could not hide his frustration that so much attention remains around Rodgers.
‘I don’t want to disrespect any of the players we have on our team, and it kind of p—-s me off – and some of the other players – that that’s what we all talk about,” Glenn said.
He also admitted that the bombshell decision to axe Rodgers upset some people inside the locker room.

Star defensive tackle Quinnen Williams reacted to the news by posting a thumbs-down emoji on social media. ‘Another rebuild year for me I guess,’ he added.
Glenn confirmed he had spoken to Williams about the decision but he warned his team that there will be more unpopular decisions to come.
‘This is not going to be the last decision I make that’s going to upset some people, and that’s OK,’ Glenn said.
‘But as men, we talk about it. We make sure we keep it in-house, and that’s what we’re going to continue to do.’
The head coach added: ‘I understand the reaction of the players, but I’ll say this: Every decision that me and (Mougey) make is to win and to win now.’
Rodgers was informed of the team’s decision on February 6 but the 41-year-old has yet to publicly address his exit from New York.
