ITV viewers were left appalled after a ‘totally inappropriate’ joke at Christine Lampard’s expense was broadcast.
Christine, 46, was standing in as usual for Lorraine Kelly as she anchored the Friday edition of her breakfast show.
During the programme viewers watched as the mum-of-twospoke to former EastEnders actress Tanya Franks.
The star, best known for playing Rainie Cross in the soap, spoke about her new role in comedy A Role To Die For.
However, viewers were left stunned when the Northern Irish TV host crossed live to resident GP Dr Amir Khan.
The medic was live from Ilkley Pool and Lido in Bradford as he offered viewers advice on tackling a heatwave and remaining cool as an alert is issued for parts of England.

During the segment, Amir and Christine were discussing the hose pipe ban that is currently in place by Yorkshire Council.
He then told her: ‘There is one thing that is dulling my pain from not being able to water the garden and that is being up close and personal with you…’
Amir continued: ‘Check out my shorts Christine,’ he said as the camera panned down, revealing pictures of Christine’s face dotted around the swimming attire.
As the doctor waved his legs, Christine was lost for words as she burst out laughing.
Styling it out like a professional, she then asked: ‘Did you make those yourself? I’m very impressed.’
However, viewers were appalled when he quipped: ‘I’ve been waiting my whole life to have you anywhere near my nether regions, Christine, so it is the day, it is the day.’
Flooding social media with comments, one Lorraine fan said: ”Couldn’t believe what he was saying, totally inappropriate.’
A second ITV viewer snapped: ‘#Lorraine Amir inappropriate much with Christine! I can’t believe it of him! Especially after the whole Greg Wallace debacle.’

Dr Amir Khan recently showed off his new look to fans during a remote appearance on Good Morning Britain.
He dialed into the programme sporting a thick moustache, a big switch-up from his usual clean shaven look.
Fans flooded social media with their reactions to his new look, as one joked: ‘Check out Dr Amir with his moustache.’
A second commented: ‘What is with this obsession with moustaches atm? They’re everywhere #gmb.’
‘Who trimmed that moustache’ asked another fan, alongside a screaming emoji.
