King Charles’ decision to evict Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from Frogmore Cottage reportedly left his son feeling “furious”.
In 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan stepped away from royal life and moved overseas. They now live in California with their children Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four.
For some time, they still kept their Frogmore Cottage home in the UK. Queen Elizabeth II gifted them the house after their 2018 wedding.
However, the king reportedly chose to evict the couple in 2023.

Did King Charles evict Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from Frogmore Cottage?
Harry, 40, and Meghan, 43, lived at Frogmore Cottage from 2019 until their move to America in 2020. It’s a Grade-II listed property in the grounds of Windsor Castle in Berkshire.
According to reports, they were asked to leave the property in 2023. It came after the release of Harry’s tell-all memoir Spare.
Harry was absolutely furious and in tears about being evicted from Frogmore.
In the book, Harry made a string of claims about his family including an allegation that his older brother Prince William physically attacked him during an altercation in 2019.
Harry also alleged that he and William begged their father Charles not to marry Camilla, now Queen Camilla.
In March 2023, a spokesperson for Harry and Meghan said: “We can confirm the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been requested to vacate their residence at Frogmore Cottage.”
Buckingham Palace didn’t comment.

Prince Andrew ‘offered Frogmore Cottage’
Reports claimed that the home has been offered to King Charles‘ brother Prince Andrew, who currently lives in Royal Lodge in Windsor. However, the Duke of York reportedly turned down the offer.
Andrew stepped down from royal duties in 2019 following his Newsnight interview about allegations of sexual assault and his relationship with late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew has always denied the allegations.
In 2022, Andrew settled out of court with his accuser Virginia Giuffre for an undisclosed sum after she launched a civil case against him in the US.

Prince Harry ‘furious’ over Frogmore Cottage decision
Following the news about Frogmore Cottage, royal author Tom Quinn claimed that Harry was “furious” over the decision.
He told the Mirror in 2024: “Harry was absolutely furious and in tears about being evicted from Frogmore. He felt his father had no right to do it and that it was purely vindictive.”
Quinn claimed that Harry “couldn’t see that choosing to stop being a working royal would inevitably mean being deprived of his royal residence”.
He added: “Harry took it as a cruel rejection. A painful reminder of all that he felt when his father fought with his mother during their long drawn out, painful divorce.
“Whenever Charles puts his foot down, it seems unfair to Harry who feels that after everything that has happened to him, he should always get whatever he wants whether that be security paid for by the British taxpayer or a luxurious UK home.”
Royal Insider has contacted reps for Harry and Meghan for comment.
