Susanna Reid had to step in after her Good Morning Britain co-star ‘choked up’ over ‘issues at home’ while presenting a live segment on the show.
Entertainment editor Richard Arnold, 55, joined Susanna, 54, and Richard Madeley, 68, on the ITV show on Thursday to talk about everything showbiz.
But while he was presenting live to the nation, he appeared to get very upset while talking about an upcoming annual celebration.
Richard said: ‘Now moving on, looking ahead of the season of love…’
The journalist then stopped what he was saying and appeared to get very emotional in front of the camera.
He even put his hands over his mouth as if he was about the cry.

His co-stars Susanna, Richard Madeley and Kate Garraway watched on as he spoke about ‘issues at home’
But Richard managed to get his emotions under control and continued: ‘Valentine’s Day is soon upon us…’
A worried Susanna then chimed in and asked: ‘You alright?!’
Richard replied: ‘Few issues at home. Few issues at home.’
The panel looked concerned, before he backtracked, adding: ‘Nah, I’m just kidding.’
The camera then panned in on Susanna’s shocked facial expression as she grappled with confusion.
Despite making the shocking revelation, Richard then continued with his segment as if nothing had even happened.
Richard continued: ‘Gwyneth Paltrow has got you covered for gifts.
‘Her company Goop have put together their list of inspirational gifts…’

Richard likes to keep his private life out of the spotlight.
He has been in a relationship with his partner Stuart for the past 20 years.
The telly star does sometimes mention him while live on air in the GMB studio though.
Back in August he confessed that they had had an argument before he went to work.
Telling his co-stars Kate Garraway and Adil Kay, he said: ‘My other half and I have fallen out over a shower attachment!’
His confession left the pair in hysterics.
Last year Richard also opened up about his relationship, admitting that he would like to tie the knot soon.
Richard previously said: ‘We’ve been together for 19 years now my partner and I, it feels like five minutes, under water.’
He added: ‘Still no ring on my finger, but I’m waiting.’
On Wednesday it was revealed that a Good Morning Britain star will be returning to the show after a career change and health scare.
Iain Dale shared a picture of him in the studio and said: ‘This week is getting better and better.
‘I’ve been asked to return to GMB on Friday!
‘I’ll be alongside the wonderful Caroline Flint!’
