This Morning viewers were in for a colourful start to their Friday as hosts Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond welcomed a professional stripper onto the show. However, viewers were left cringing over one particular story that even left Dermot hiding behind his notes.
Friday’s show saw Dermot and Alison introduce a debate over whether hen parties have faced a revamp, with Gen Z brides opting to ditch traditional male strippers for activities like axe-throwing and escape rooms. Welcoming events planner Liz Taylor and stripper Mike Stratton onto the sofa, Dermot and Alison discussed whether stripper experiences had become outdated and tacky with their guests.

This Morning guest Mike Stratton spoke about his stripping experience on the show
However, Mike – who is Britain’s ‘most experienced stripper’ – left the presenters red-faced with one rather cringe-worthy story from his career. “Can you tell us about the awkward weird story about you getting booked for a funeral?” Dermot asked.
Mike replied: “This woman has died and in her will, she’s asked for – do you know The Full Monty? There’s a bit in the job centre where he’s [stripping to] Hot Stuff, that’s the routine. She wanted that at her funeral and she wanted it next to her coffin.”
He added: “I said to her son, ‘So everyone knows at this, don’t they?’ And he said, ‘Only a couple of us know.'” Reeling from the reveal, Dermot hid behind his show notes, while Alison said: “Oh my goodness.”
Mike continued: “250 people in the church. We’re stood at the back for two hours as people are crying and eulogising.”

Earlier in the show, Alison had stopped Mike from stripping off live on air (

Viewers took to social media to share their thoughts on the segment, with one opinionated poster writing: “New low this feature #thismorning.” Another said: “Oh Lord above. Hen and stag do stories #thismorning,” alongside an emoji of a woman with a hand over her face. A third tweeted: “Jeez wtf #ThisMorning.”
However, the segment did get a lot of viewers debating, with one writing: “If my friends surprised me with a stripper, I’d disappear faster than you could say ‘kill me now!’ #thismorning.” Another recalled: “My friend sent the stripper away at her hen do over 20 years ago. She was mortified and didn’t want him anywhere near her. Absolute cringe! #thismorning.”
Mike’s story wasn’t the only shocking moment of the segment – Alison Hammond found herself blushing before the chat when she stopped him from shedding his clothes live on air.
