Vontae Davis passed away aged 35 last year in April, and people around him still couldn’t recover from the trauma.
Recently, the former executive assistant to Davis, Cristina M. Friebe, recounted the traumatic moment when she discovered Davis’s body. She found the former NFL cornerback dead on April 1, 2024, in his home gym in Southwest Ranches, Florida.
Friebe received a frantic call from a newly hired personal assistant who was on just her fourth day of work.
“There’s blood everywhere,” that’s all she heard from the new joinee.
Upon hearing this, Friebe instinctively rushed to the scene, immediately knowing it was too late. However, she later described the experience as one of the most dreadful moments of her life.
Davis, who was only 35 years old at the time of his d3ath, was found in a supine position, naked. As per reports, he was wearing only a metal necklace when the housekeeper discovered him.

A police report later detailed the chaotic and disturbing scene, with drugs scattered throughout the property. It was cannabis gummies, small bags of brown powder, and various capsules all around the area.
Evidence of drug use included a burnt spoon and traces of vomit in the master bedroom.
Despite the prosecutorial evidence, Friebe insisted she had never witnessed Davis using drugs during her tenure.
“I never saw him doing drugs or anything like that. If I had seen that, I wouldn’t have taken the job,” she said.
She acknowledged, however, that “the medical examiner’s drug test doesn’t lie.”
The 35-year-old individual mentioned
Davis had consumed a dangerous cocktail of drugs, including methamphetamine and MDMA, before his collapse and subsequent d3ath. The medical examiner ruled the cause of d3ath as “undetermined.” Additionally, they found MDMA and THC in his system.

While the celebrated life of Vontae Davis saw a dramatic end, his NFL career was no different.
His football career came to a dramatic and unexpected end during halftime of the Buffalo Bills’ home-opening game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
After a decade in professional football, Davis removed his uniform and wore street clothes in the locker room. He later announced his retirement, saying he doesn’t “belong on that field anymore.”
In the days that followed, Davis opened up about what led to that life-changing moment. He shared how, during the second quarter, he suddenly realized he didn’t feel like himself anymore.
“I didn’t feel right. I didn’t feel like myself,” Davis said.
He suddenly realized that he was out of place. He further stated, “I went to the bench after that series, and it just hit me. I don’t belong on that field anymore.”
While some teammates felt his move was disrespectful, Davis emphasized that his decision was deeply personal. He had reached a point where he felt like an outsider in a game he once adored.
And despite the backlash, he stood firm that his instincts were guiding him to step away.
After making such a bold choice, Davis found a surprising sense of relief. He expressed how

Davis simply replied: “I’m done young boys. This my last go around.”
White asked Davis if he meant this was his last season, and he replied that the current game was his last.
“I’m thinking the whole time, why in the fuck would you go through OTAs and camp and you gonna do this shit,” White said.
The following day, McCoy explained how he and White went to Davis’ house to get the story of what exactly happened.
Davis explained: “Now listen Shady. This is a young man’s game, Shady. If you can’t go, it’s over Shady. I’m out there Shady and, you’re Shady McCoy. When you can’t cut on a dime, Shady, it’s time to go.”
The video got reposted so much that Davis contacted White.
