Royal fans took aim at Meghan Markle after Princess Catherine’s Wimbledon move.

A picture of Princess Catherine at Wimbledon over the weekend has gone viral on social media, with fans taking aim at the Duchess of Sussex for it. The Princess of Wales attended the men’s singles of the tennis tournament on Sunday.

She was joined by her husband, Prince William and their two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. The royals watched the match from the royal box as Italy’s Jannik Sinner defeated Germany’s Alexander Zverev. Catherine was well equipped for the warm weather with a straw hat, sunglasses and plenty of fluids to keep hydrated.

The future Queen was also spotted using a handheld fan to battle the scorching heat.

One photograph of Catherine using the fan has gone viral on social media, with fans using it to mock Meghan Markle.

A user, who uploaded the picture on X, wrote the caption: “No, I don’t have to sell jams.”

The caption is a reference to the duchess’s jam-selling business, As Ever, which, aside from jam, offers other types of food products.

Another one joked in the comment section: “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a jam.”

A third one replied: “Nor will you ever have such a need. Because you are The Princess Catherine of Wales and a gift!”

A fourth one opined: “M would be: ‘Why isn’t someone fanning me?!? I should not do it myself!’”

A fifth one added: “[Laughing face emoji] but if she did, it would be a success.”

Meanwhile, another one added: “Or wickless candles!”

Speaking at the Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit in Washington, D.C. in 2025, Meghan said about her life after leaving the Royal Family in 2020: “I think it was probably most people’s assumption that if I was going to go into business, it would be fashion and beauty.

“But those five years at home – I wasn’t running around wearing beautiful outfits, I was probably in Birkenstocks and sweats like the rest of us, especially during Covid, or just barefoot at home, but I was making a lot of jam.”
