King Charles and Prince Harry have reportedly “not yet spoken” following his shock return to the UK with Meghan Markle and their two children, Prince Archie, seven and Princess Lilibet, five. According to royal commentator Kinsey Schofield’s sources, tensions continue to remain high after the King released a bombshell statement reiterating the Sussexes’ roles in Britain. During a recent appearance on GB News, she stated: “Prince Harry reportedly hasn’t spoken to his father since his return to the UK. I’ve heard from multiple sources that King Charles was blindsided by Harry’s move and remains perplexed because Harry hasn’t been particularly clear or forthcoming about what he intends to do in Britain.”

Kinsey continued: “Now, we have the King putting pen to paper and making it crystal clear that Harry and Meghan are private citizens, they are not working royals, there is no half in half out arrangement. So while Harry may have physically moved closer to his family, it certainly doesn’t sound like they moved any closer to reconciliation.”

The commentator added: “Harry has spent years accusing the Royal Family of briefing the media against him, but he has also spent years briefing the media himself. We recently heard all of his supposed hopes for weekend tea with his father while the grandchildren play in the garden.

“Harry has a habit of saying one thing and doing another, and every time these private conversations and aspirations end up in the press, it gives the Royal Family another reason not to trust Harry.

“You can’t rebuild trust while briefing your reconciliation strategy to journalists, so I think it’s going to be a long road back for both parties, building trust between all of them.”

King Charles’ letter came as formal guidance to be distributed after officials received a “number of requests” seeking clarification on the Sussexes’ roles within the UK.

It was established that the Duke and Duchess remain non-working members of the Royal Family despite their return to the UK and that their charity work will continue on a private basis, while their office will operate independently from the Royal household.

The letter was issued by Lord Chamberlain Lord Benyon under the King’s instruction and distributed to senior officials across the British government and military, as well as to the 77-year-olds’ representatives throughout the country.

Harry’s team also received a copy, which a spokesperson said they “were a little surprised not to have been told about this in advance.” The letter, which was sent out, stated: “To help avoid doubt or confusion, the King has directed that the following information be shared.”

They were believed to have only seen the letter about an hour before it was shared with the media. By the time his team had contacted Prince Harry, it was clear that the letter was about to be published.
