A woman has been arrested after four people were stabbed near Covent Garden, the Metropolitan Police has confirmed.
Emergency services were called to Endell Street in London’s West End shortly before 12.30pm today.
The London Ambulance Service said four patients were treated at the scene before being taken to a major trauma centre as a priority by road.
An ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer were sent to the area. London’s Air Ambulance was also dispatched.

Woman heard warning about ‘st@bb!ng people with scissors’
A woman leaving the Oasis Sports Centre said she heard someone shouting that a person was “st@bb!ng people with scissors”.
She told our reporter: “It all seemed very strange. I saw several people running, but it was all happening at the other end of the street.
“I had a class booked and went to that, and when I came out the street was still sealed off.”
Police have not publicly confirmed what weapon was used.
Dozens of officers remain at scene
Endell Street remains cordoned off, with dozens of police officers still around the area, our reporter Andy Lines said.
At the northern end of the street, near Shaftesbury Avenue, several officers were seen carrying out enquiries with open laptops.

Witness says people panicked and fled
A diner at a nearby Byron restaurant said people panicked and ran after the st@bb!ng on Endell Street.
The woman, who said she was around 50 yards away, told our reporter: “Lots of people panicked and fled. I didn’t see the incident, but people ran.”
Stabbing reportedly happened outside flats
The st@bb!ng is understood to have taken place outside Dudley Court on Endell Street, according to a member of staff at nearby restaurant The Rock and Sole Plaice.

Crowds gather behind police cordons
Our reporter Toby Codd, who is at the scene, said around 10 to 12 officers are currently in the area.
He said Endell Street remains busy with workers and tourists, with large numbers of people gathering near the cordons.
