Prince William has shared his thoughts about a ‘devastating’ issue on social media.

Prince William and Princess Catherine have released a statement to those affected by the devastating wildfires in France, Spain and the UK.
The statement read: “Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the devastating wildfires across France, Spain and the UK.
“We are deeply grateful to the firefighters, emergency services and volunteers working tirelessly in extraordinarily difficult conditions. These events are a stark reminder of the challenges posed by an increasingly extreme climate and the importance of protecting both people and nature. W.”
The statement was signed off with a ‘W’ to represent William, although shared on the couple’s joint X account.
Massive forest fires have forced the evacuation of 200,000 people in south-western France as well as central Spain as flames raged out of control.
141,000 people in the Gironde and Landes departments were forced to evacuate in France.
Wheras, in Bordeaux, authorities ordered the evacuation of another 55,000 people on the outskirts of the city as firefighters tackled nearby wildfires.
On Sunday, it was reported that a British restaurant owner in Bordeaux said the city is “full of smoke and ash” and residents are wearing masks if they go outside.

Lance Attwood, 58, who owns Sweeney Todd’s in Bordeaux city centre, said: “It’s not really conducive to coming out.
“The town is full of smoke and ash, so there’s a big drop in business, people are just walking around town in masks. Our biggest concern is people’s safety and the safety of the emergency services.”
As a result of the wildfires, the French foreign minister has urged tourists not to cancel their travel plans despite unprecedented wildfires in the country’s south west.
