Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been dealt a further blow as Taylor Swift’s sister in law has reached out to Princess Kate. Kylie Kelce, who is married to Travis Kelce’s brother, Jason, has invited the Princess of Wales to appear on her podcast after being impressed by the royal’s hockey skills.
Speaking on the Thursday, September 24, episode of her Not Gonna Lie podcast, the 34-year-old mum of four referenced the fact Kate, 45, had been photographed playing Shinty, a smiliar Scottish sport, at a recent event. “I’m still calling it a win for field hockey because where do you think she got that skill? Yeah, that’s right, she’s a field hockey player,” the former collegiate and high school field hockey player gushed. She also insisted Kate’s gameplay should be proof of hockey’s overall popularity before then publicly inviting her onto the podcast to shoot the breeze.
“Here’s the thing about the sport of field hockey, so Princess Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, if you ever wanted to come on and chitchat about field hockey and kids, we have a couple things in common,” Kylie quipped.
“And our husbands chitchatted on the other podcast, so you can come on this one. Just a thought! We’d love to have you, no pressure, please.”
Having a showbiz icon embrace Kate will come as a blow to Harry and Meghan, who have been trying to position themselves as celebrities since they stepped away from their role as working royals. Kylie is also the sister-in-law of Taylor Swift, who is one of the most well-connected starlets in the showbiz industry. The Telegraph previously revealed that Meghan reached out to Taylor with a handwritten invitation to appear on her podcast Archetypes, but the singer turned it down.

Celebrity support has been equally thin on the ground since the couple’s highly publicised return to the UK. While the couple has been welcomed back warmly by a tight-knit circle of close friends and charitable allies, top-tier UK celebrities have largely avoided making high-profile public statements or aligning their brands with the couple.
The Kelcs have made it clear they are fans of Prince William having met him at Taylor’s Life of a Showgirl June 2024 concert in London.
Jason, 38, and Travis, later interviewed the future monarch, 45, for a July episode of their New Heights podcast.
“My family hasn’t got a particularly long history with football, [though] there are a few of us who support teams. My football love came from friends taking me to my first match,” he told the pair over Zoom. “At school growing up, you can’t avoid the football chat. It’s everywhere, and some … childhood friends of mine took me to my first game.”
