Green, a longtime advocate for marginalized communities, defended his protest as a necessary disruption, emphasizing that he would do it again if given the chance. “If you get in the way, if you’re arrested, then you’ve got to be willing to suffer the consequences,” he told reporters. However, most of the Democrats remained seated, and leadership figures like Nancy Pelosi, Hakeem Jeffries, Chuck Schumer, and Elizabeth Warren offered no significant direction or coordinated effort to challenge Trump’s narrative.
