Heartbreaking event that won’t end Prince William and Prince Harry’s rift
The brothers have not seen each other recently.

Prince William and Prince Harry could mark an important anniversary this month – the 29th anniversary of the loss of their mother – but experts say they won’t mark it together. Diana, Princess of Wales tragically lost her life on August 31, 1997, with next year marking the 30th anniversary of her death.
Experts say the brothers won’t put their differences aside and come together for the heartbreaking event. Phil Dampier, author of Royally Suited: Harry and Meghan in their own words, told the Daily Mail: “William and Harry put aside their differences for the unveiling of the statue of their mother, Princess Diana [five years ago], but things are much worse now.” The brothers are reportedly not on speaking terms.

He adds: “I think William would find it very hard to meet Harry, even to honour Diana’s memory. Next year marks the 30th anniversary of her death, so that would be an obvious time for them to try and heal their rift and at least be seen together, but I don’t think William’s heart is in it.
“Friends tell me that, as far as he is concerned, Harry is the past, and he is only concerned about the future for his wife Catherine and their children George, Charlotte and Louis.”
The brothers were last seen together in public in September 2022, nearly four years ago. At the time, they did a joint walkabout with Meghan and Catherine to meet fans who had gathered outside Windsor Castle after Queen Elizabeth’s death.
The relationship between the brothers reportedly first started to fracture around the time Prince Harry started dating Meghan Markle.

Prince William allegedly raised an alarm about the speed at which his brother’s relationship was progressing ahead of their 2018 wedding, reports The Independent.
Tensions heightened after Harry and Megan’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey, and then again after the publication of Harry’s book, Spare, in 2023, which unleashed a raft of damaging allegations against the Royal Family.
In an interview, Harry said: “Of course, some members of my family will never forgive me for writing a book. Of course, they will never forgive me for lots of things.”
