Lawrence B Jones attended Garland High School, where he graduated in 2011. With his passion for politics, Jones studied political science at the University of North Texas. Before graduation, he worked as a student advocate in the renowned Garland Independent School District. On several occasions, Lawrence has stated that he was Garland’s youth mayor.

Lawrence Jones did not grow up in a perfect family—he was the product of a life full of challenges when his mother became pregnant at the age of 16! A teenage girl, who had not yet fully understood life, suddenly became a mother. How could she raise a child when she was still a child herself?

The long sleepless nights, the silent tears, the harsh gossip from society—his mother went through it all. But instead of giving up, she decided to fight, doing whatever job she could, despite all the difficulties to protect her little child. There were days when they only had enough money for one meal, there were moments of despair when it seemed impossible to continue—but she never gave up!
