Rapper Kanye West’s wife, Bianca Censori, will not face legal consequences for wearing a see-through dress on the red carpet at the 2025 Grammy Awards.

Los Angeles Police Department sources told TMZ on Feb. 3 that no one who was present at Crypto.com Arena on the evening of Feb. 2 has filed any formal complaints about Kanye West’s wife’s outfit.

Sources also pointed out that the annual music awards show is a private event.

Los Angeles attorney Andrea Oguntula explained to Page Six: “While Ms. Censori’s attire certainly crossed the line, the California indecent exposure charge requires the intentional exposure of genitals in a public place with the specific intent to insult or sexually arouse.”

“It’s theoretically possible, but unlikely, that she would face any criminal prosecution for this incident,” Oguntula added, noting that the district attorney’s office would have to make that determination.

According to TMZ, the event’s organizers, Anschutz Entertainment Group, Inc. (AEG Worldwide) and the Recording Academy, both had security personnel on hand when Kanye West and Bianca Censori arrived for music’s biggest night.

Sources close to the event’s organizers further confirmed to the newspaper that the rapper-turned-fashion designer was a guest and had made it clear he wanted to appear on the red carpet.

The Yeezy founder wore his usual all-black outfit, sunglasses and a diamond necklace, while his wife Censori appeared in a floor-length black coat.

However, while posing for the camera, Censori, 30, turned around and took off her coat, exposing her entire bum in a sheer mini dress.

A lip reader told the Daily Mail that West encouraged Censori to “make a scene”. “Put your coat behind you and turn around,” he ordered before she stripped off. She then turned around and revealed her entire body. The couple were escorted out of the event by police after their shocking performance on the Grammys red carpet. However, Kanye West’s wife still appeared at a Grammy post-party in a see-through black lingerie set.

This is not the first time an artist has worn a shocking outfit at an event. Previously, Kendall Jenner promoted a see-through dress (no underwear) at the premiere of Girls of The Sun, at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival. British actress Kimberley Garner once attracted attention on the red carpet of the 2021 Cannes Film Festival with a bold slit design. Model Julia Fox appeared on the 2025 Grammy red carpet, making viewers “blush” when wearing a see-through, tight-fitting outfit that showed off her body too much… However, up to now, no artist has been punished for dressing in an outrageous, offensive way at events.
