Fox News Channel’s debut of The Will Cain Show secured 3.5 million viewers on Tuesday, making it the highest-rated daytime show debut in network history, the broadcaster announced.
Weekend host Will Cain was promoted to the weekday afternoon slot vacated by longtime personality Neil Cavuto, who left the network last month.
One delighted viewer said on X: “My new favorite show!”
Cain, who turns 50 in March, shared his “mission” for the show, saying he believed it would be an “evolution.”

Speaking to viewers about his debut, the Texan reflected: “It’s a process; it’s a ride. I’m super-grateful to have this show.
“And incredibly grateful to be able to do it from America’s heartland.
But I can only make you one promise, and that is that I’m going to be real.
“I’m going to be authentic and I’m going to seek the truth.
“I don’t believe I sit behind a desk and speak from high on the mountain and my word is the word of God, just because I have a microphone.

“Instead, I will go through that process, with you, curiously, honestly, of seeking the truth.”
He then discussed viewers’ comments on his show.

One told him: “Love it, way to go Will. Hope you add a sports segment once in a while even if at the end of a Friday.”
He replied: “I think you can probably count on that.”
Another woman said on X: “So proud of our northeast Texas talent. Congratulations to my fellow Texan.”
He thanked her as a “proud Texan.”
Another wrote on Instagram: “I love the look of the show, Will did a great job and deserves his own show. Will miss him on weekends but love the new show.”
He replied that “nothing is fake” on the set behind him, as he held up his microphone.
However, it turns out that not everyone is a fan of that mic.
When Cain asked the team on The Five on Fox News for their thoughts on his show, he was told to get rid of it.
MICROPHONE UNPOPULAR
Greg Gutfeld joked: “I don’t like the microphone, I don’t understand it. What town is [showing] in the background? And the graphics package, they’ve got to go back to work!”
One viewer commented on social media: “Like the new show but hate the microphone in the shot. It’s not a radio show. Good luck Will!”
Another wrote: “Will… gonna miss you on the weekends, but love this. Great move by Fox.”
And one fan also honed in on the mic on Facebook: “The microphone. Kinda cool, but not yet decided. Stop looking to the right – it’s where the mic lives. You’re gonna do great. Keep it up bubba, think of you like one of my sons.”
Another said: “Love the show and you! I will be watching every day! Congratulations.”
Who is Will Cain?

He is filling the 4 pm slot left empty by business reporter Neil Cavuto with The Will Cain Show.
Cain has been with Fox since 2020 when he joined Fox & Friends.
In his weekend duties, he interviewed stars like President-elect Donald Trump and actor Dwayne Johnson.
Cain is a lawyer by trade but broke into the media business after graduating from the University of Texas.

He hosted the radio program entitled The Will Cain Show and often appeared on the wildly popular debate program First Take.
Cain is married to Kathleen Cain and they have two sons together.
Cain also had this suggestion from a long-time fan: “Congratulations Will so far. This show is wonderful. I don’t like the big microphone in front of your face. We don’t need it… you’ll relax in a day or two, love the show.”
Another commented: “Sorry Will, microphone needs to go, too old-fashioned. After a bit I would update the background [of the set].”
THANKS DAD
A trained lawyer, Cain had a radio show and contributed to television programming at ESPN before joining Fox in 2020.
Previously, he was an analyst at CNN and host at the Blaze.
He told KCMO Talk Radio in Kansas City, Missouri, today: “My dad instilled me with a ton of unearned confidence throughout my life.”
