Fresh claims surrounding Prince Andrew’s relationship with the Royal Family have reignited speculation about tensions behind palace walls, with reports suggesting the Duke of York feels increasingly isolated following a series of setbacks.
According to a source, Andrew is said to be deeply unhappy with how his position within the monarchy has changed over the past year and believes he has been treated unfairly compared with other members of the Royal Family.
The insider alleged that the former Duke of York has become increasingly resentful after losing his royal titles and leaving Royal Lodge for a smaller home on the Sandringham estate. They also claimed he feels frustrated about the impact recent events have had on his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, despite both retaining their royal titles.
Speaking to Closer magazine, the source claimed Andrew believes King Charles is attempting to distance both him and the York branch of the family from public royal life. The insider further alleged that he is angry over how events have unfolded and has no intention of quietly accepting the situation.
The reported tensions come during an already difficult period for Andrew.
Earlier this year, he was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office before being released under investigation. The investigation remains ongoing. Andrew denies any allegations or wrongdoing.
His move from Royal Lodge followed renewed scrutiny linked to his name appearing in the Epstein Files. The published material included emails showing he remained in contact with the late Jeffrey Epstein after Epstein’s conviction for child sex offences.
