Prince William is reportedly “beyond furious” with his uncle Earl Spencer over claims made in his new book about Princess Diana and King Charles.
According to an unnamed royal source cited by RadarOnline, the Prince of Wales is deeply unhappy that painful events surrounding his mother’s death have once again been brought into the public spotlight.
William has not publicly commented on Swan Song, Earl Spencer’s latest book, or on the claims about his private reaction.
The source suggested, however, that the controversy has touched an especially sensitive nerve because it involves both of William’s parents and one of the most traumatic periods of his childhood.
“William is beyond furious that all of this has been dragged into public again,” the source claimed.

According to the same source, William recognises that Earl Spencer has his own memories and relationship with Diana.
However, the insider claimed there is frustration that publishing such explosive allegations inevitably pulls both William and Prince Harry back into events they experienced while grieving as children.
“William understands that Charles Spencer has his own memories and his own relationship with Diana,” the source continued.
“But there is a feeling that publishing claims this incendiary inevitably forces William and Harry back into events they experienced as grieving children.”
The comments remain an anonymous source’s account of William’s feelings and have not been confirmed by Kensington Palace.
Timing Said to Have Made Situation Worse
The timing of the book has also reportedly caused anger.
The 30th anniversary of Diana’s death will fall in August 2027, and the source claimed William would rather he and Harry were able to remember their mother privately.
“The timing has also caused huge anger,” the insider said.
“The 30th anniversary of Diana’s death is approaching, and instead of allowing her sons to remember her privately, another battle has erupted over who said what during that terrible week.”
Earl Spencer Makes Serious Claims About King Charles
In Swan Song, Spencer makes a series of allegations concerning the Royal Family and the aftermath of Diana’s death.
Among them is a claim that Charles sounded like a “lottery winner” after learning that Diana had died.
Spencer has also alleged that Charles suggested the public would soon forget Diana.
