BREAKING: Meghan Markle brings Archie and Lilibet to UK for reunion meeting with King Charles

The King and Queen this afternoon hosted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet at Highgrove House, Buckingham Palace sources have confirmed. As it was a private meeting, no images of the family reunion will be released.
Meghan is understood to have travelled with their two young children to Britain earlier today, while Prince Harry was marking the one-year countdown to the 2027 Birmingham Invictus Games. The Prince and Princess of Wales, who were at the annual charity polo match in Windsor, did not attend the family reunion.

It marks the first time the King has seen his two youngest grandchildren in over four years, since the Sussex family travelled to the UK for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June 2022.

Meghan had been due to attend the Birmingham event with her husband earlier on Friday, but did not fly to the UK with Harry earlier this week because of security concerns.
However, on Thursday night, it was reported that the Duchess would travel to Britain with their children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five. They flew over on Friday, having been holidaying in Europe.

After Harry left the Birmingham venue at lunchtime, he is understood to have travelled some 90 miles to the King’s private residence in Gloucestershire with Meghan and the children joining him there.

There had been a gap in the diary; neither Harry nor the King had any public engagements scheduled post 3.30pm, after the King wrapped up two visits at Oxford University.
It is not known how long the Sussex family stayed at Highgrove but the significant family reunion comes after a bruising week for the Duke, who lost a £50 million privacy case against the publishers of the Daily Mail.
The family are expected to spend the weekend at Althorp House with the Spencer family, where they will visit the grave of Harry’s mother, the late Diana, Princess of Wales.
