BREAKING NEWS: Britain’s Got Talent judge pauses show to issue apology as act goes very wrong

ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent returned to screens this evening, but the judges were far from impressed with one of the semi-final acts. KSI was left red-faced and forced to apologise for awarding his golden buzzer to comedian Mr Cherry during the audition stages, after the panel unanimously declared tonight’s performance “rubbish”.
The competition is well and truly heating up, with the finest acts of this year battling it out for a coveted place in the grand final. Whoever is crowned the 2026 Britain’s Got Talent champion will earn a prestigious spot at the Royal Variety Show, performing in front of the Royal Family. During the audition stages, KSI was utterly captivated by Mr Cherry, an offbeat comedian known for his cheeky antics. His audition featured smashing cans and a watermelon, as well as popping open a bottle of fizz with his backside. So taken was KSI by the act that he awarded Mr Cherry his golden buzzer, propelling him straight through to the semi-finals.

Yet when it came to tonight’s performance, the judges were left thoroughly unimpressed. Mr Cherry kicked things off by plonking himself on Simon’s buzzer, before repeating his trademark routine of smashing cans, opening a bottle with his bum and hollering while drenching himself in liquids, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Leading the judges’ verdicts, KSI admitted he felt compelled to “apologise to the whole of the UK”. He said: “I’d like to apologise to the whole of the UK. I don’t know what I’ve done. Mr Cherry, I mean I love the energy. I love the pants with my face on it. I love that you were smashing watermelons, interesting. But in terms of the whole act, as a semi-finalist, maybe it wasn’t the best.”
Alesha Dixon said: “What a load of rubbish.” Amanda Holden issued her verdict, saying: “You’ve got a very strong bum but that’s where it ends. Bottom line, it was pants.”

Simon Cowell was the sole judge to offer a remotely constructive assessment. He said: “I thought it lacked a little polish tonight.
“It was like you drank a million cups of coffee and decided to sit on loads of watermelons. That was sort of it.”
Mr Cherry took the scathing remarks in his stride, beaming and cheering his way through them regardless.
