Fans of This Morning found themselves changing the channel during the latest episode.
Hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard were back on the blue sofa on Thursday (July 9) to discuss the day’s topical stories. The show was notably extended by 30 minutes, after Loose Women made way for ITV Racing.
At the end of the programme, Cat and Ben spoke to consumer expert Grace Forell, who hosted a segment that was all about Christmas.
“Now, there are just 169 days to go until we’ll all be stuffing our faces with turkey and possibly drinking one too many snowballs,” Cat began.
Ben added: “It may be a heatwave outside, but our consumer expert Grace Forell is back to tell us why now is the perfect time to prepare for Christmas. Really, Grace?”

Grace explained why getting ahead and being prepared was the best way to save money, and shared some tips to help viewers. They included using previous Christmas bank statements to set a realistic budget, and making saving pots.
However, ITV viewers were not impressed that the show was dedicating a segment to Christmas over five months early, particularly during the current UK heatwave.
“Just stop it now!!! No, do not prepare for Christmas in July in the middle of a heatwave, f*** off,” one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Another added: “Preparing for Christmas… in July! I hate #ThisMorning. Switches off,” while a third said: “Go away talking about Christmas in July.”
A fourth viewer echoed the sentiment, saying: “Absolutely pointless segment to end the pointless show,” while someone else commented: “This is just the start… Moment kids go back for new school year #thismorning ram it down your throats every. Single. day.”

Elsewhere in the segment, Cat and Ben spoke to 26-year-old Bobbie-Jo Pritchard, who had nearly finished her Christmas shopping for the year.
“I start usually on Boxing Day, and I know some people will think that’s a bit insane, but that’s when you can start getting the perfect deals. And then January sales [is] when I go into the shops, and just throughout the year, I’m always looking for the best bargain,” Bobbie-Jo explained.
She went on: “I tend to pick up bits and bobs that I think are more stocking fillers and things like that first. And I sort of throw hints throughout the year and it does get to a point where at the end of year if [my family] don’t like what I’ve got them, well [makes shrugging gesture], I guess.”
Bobbie-Jo said that she stores most of her gifts under her bed, and tends to wrap them closer to Christmas so that she can truly immerse herself in the festive season.
