BREAKING NEWS: Loose Women returns as ITV announces new presenter replacement, leaving viewers stunned
ITV has revealed what will take the place of Loose Women at the end of this week after the popular daytime panel show was removed from Friday’s schedule.
The ITV favourite only returned from its summer break earlier this week, with viewers tuning in again on Tuesday, September 22, for the latest edition of the celebrity-filled lunchtime programme.
Tuesday’s panel was headed by This Morning favourite Ruth Langsford, who was joined by Coleen Nolan, Katie Piper and Myleene Klass.
The women discussed several of the day’s biggest topics, including children using artificial intelligence to help with homework and women proudly showing off their “baby bump”.
However, Loose Women viewers will not be seeing another edition of the programme on Friday.
The show has been temporarily taken off the ITV schedule to make room for live sporting coverage.
Instead, ITV will broadcast ITV Racing: Live from Newmarket on Friday, September 25.
The afternoon’s racing coverage will come from Newmarket and will include the Rockfel Stakes, along with two races over the jumps at Worcester.
Francesca Cumani and Ed Chamberlin will present the coverage, with Jason Weaver providing analysis.
Matt Chapman and Oli Bell will report from the event, while Richard Hoiles will provide the race commentary.
The racing programme is scheduled to begin at 1pm and will continue through the afternoon until 4pm.
Following the live coverage, viewers will see Tipping Point return to the schedule with a repeat episode.
Before the racing gets underway, ITV Lunchtime News and London News will fill the portion of the schedule that would normally have been occupied by Loose Women.
This is not the first time the ITV panel show has been missing from the daytime schedule this year.
Loose Women previously took an extended summer break, disappearing from screens from July before eventually returning earlier this month.
The latest scheduling change comes after reports that ITV plans to reduce the number of weeks Loose Women broadcasts each year.
According to earlier reports, the programme could be limited to around 30 weeks of the year, compared with its previous schedule of 52 weeks.
The show’s live studio audience has also reportedly been removed as part of changes surrounding the long-running programme.
For viewers expecting their usual Friday lunchtime dose of Loose Women, the change means live horse racing will instead dominate the ITV afternoon schedule this week.
The panel show is therefore taking another brief break from the channel’s daytime line-up, with ITV Racing: Live from Newmarket stepping into its usual Friday slot.
