BREAKING NEWS: Naga Munchetty’s BBC Breakfast replacement ‘exposed’ as Sally Nugent breaks silence

Naga Munchetty quit BBC Breakfast yesterday (July 28) after 17 years on the famous red sofa. Now a source has spoken out about her replacement, which the BBC has insisted will be announced “in due course”. Naga is heading over to BBC Radio 5 Live to present its breakfast show as Rachel Burden steps down after 15 years.
Naga’s tumultuous time on BBC Breakfast was marred by allegations of bullying, which Naga was accused of alongside her co-presenter Charlie Stayt and Breakfast boss Richard Frediani. The Sun claims she attempted to land jobs at both Sky and LBC due to “tension” between her and Frediani in the workplace, but neither were successful.

Now no formal action is thought to have been taken against Naga.
But it has reportedly led to Sally Nugent stepping up as the main star of Breakfast, with a source claiming to The Sun: “Bosses were thrilled with Sally Nugent’s recent interview with Nigel Farage and called down to say they wanted Sally covering more chats of that ilk. That used to be Naga’s domain.
“It was obviously compared to the Kemi [Badenoch] car crash from Naga.
“Everyone sees Sally as the future of the show and more generally the vibe is all about positivity for a new chapter.”

It comes after Sally broke her silence on Naga’s exit, posting on Instagram: “Congratulations @tvnaga,” after announcing the news live on air.
Naga, meanwhile, admitted: “It is exciting news, it is exciting news. A change is… they say a change is as good as a rest, don’t they?
“It’s just time for a new challenge.”
