His colleagues and friends have spoken to PEOPLE Magazine, and one person has revealed a telling statement about the prince. David Wiseman, a former serviceman and leading voice for the Invictus, says Harry is “dedicated” to the Invictus Games. Prince Harry served in the armed forces for 10 years himself, undertaking two tours in Afghanistan.

Harry eventually earned the position of Captain in the British Army, having chosen this branch of service over the Royal Navy, which other members of his family have leaned toward.

On the Royal Family’s official website, it says: “Prince Harry is committed to ensuring that wounded servicemen and women, who have given so much for their country, should be given the respect and support they deserve to lead fulfilling lives post recovery.”
