Coronation Street fans have made a prediction as to what could be in Todd Grimshaw’s future as he plots an escape to Thailand alongside Summer Spellman.
As those who follow the ITV soap know, Todd has been having to not only come to terms with the horrifying abuse he suffered at the hands of his husband, Theo Silverton, but he’s recently learned that his best friend, Sarah Platt, was the one to kill him.
Viewers will recall that Theo’s lifeless body was found by a horrified Betsy Swain on the night of her mum, Lisa Swain’s, wedding to Carla Connor, bringing an end to his 13-month reign of both physical and mental abuse over Todd, who had not long reported him to the police following a brutal attack.
When the murder investigation got underway, Todd was confirmed as a suspect by Corrie, along with George Shuttleworth, Summer Spellman, Christina Boyd, Gary and Danielle Silverton.
But it was last month that it was revealed to viewers that it wasn’t any of the six, as it was Sarah who appeared to deal the blow that sent a drunk Theo tumbling off the scaffolding outside his flat and plummeting to the ground – before she called on her former flame, Gary Windass, for help.

Struggling to keep her secret, Sarah confessed the truth to Todd, and after her partner, DC Kit Green, became even more determined to pin the blame on Garry, she told her copper beau just as he was trying to pop the question.
And despite Kit’s attempts to help cover up her crime, Sarah was arrested on suspicion of killing Theo. While she tried to protest her innocence during her interviews with DS Connor-Swai, it made no difference as they had no choice but to charge Sarah with Theo’s murder.
The news left Todd also having to admit to Summer that it was Sarah who was responsible, and that she had told him herself. Summer was initially upset, having spent time in prison for the crime she didn’t commit, but ended up understanding Todd’s dilemma, especially when he explained it was after she had already been released.
Later, the pair announced to George and Christina that they were jumping on a flight the next day to join Eileen and Jason Grimshaw in Thailand. But there were some awkward moments as Christina thought Todd was going to give her and George some of Theo’s life insurance, which he admitted he’d already given to the deceased’s children.

But it was scenes with James Bailey that got Corrie fans talking, with him once again proving to be a kind support for Todd. It left them predicting that a future romance could be on the cards.

And no doubt they will have some tragedy befall them so they are always miserable for life. #Corrie.”
But @J_WBerry added: “Oh, Todd & James are definitely on for later in the year! James has spent today patiently listening to Todd & supporting his decisions to give the insurance money to Theo’s kids & take a break in Thailand. #Corrie need to take it slow, but they’ll make an adorable couple #Jodd.”
